Republicans always double down on ignorance and smugness. She doesn't believe some people didn't know about death but it's a good opportunity to shit on those same people that gave her limited power (which took a rocket ship straight to her head).

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 days ago

I suggest she goes first.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 6 days ago

Inb4 they all still vote for her cuz they've been brainwashed that they have to vote the party line no matter what

[–] [email protected] 16 points 6 days ago

tell me how it's not a death cult again

No Rapture for her then.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 6 days ago

I'm living forever, she can go die if she wants, she should give up her medical from her gov job.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 days ago

I am surprised she didn't refer to her constituents complaints as "squealing".

[–] [email protected] 23 points 6 days ago

Don't be in such a hurry to meet Jesus, Senator, because He's going to cast you into the flaming pit you've been digging your whole life with every act of greed and heartlessness.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 6 days ago

Religion is societal cancer

[–] [email protected] 37 points 6 days ago

You first, bitch.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 6 days ago

You first, Senator Bitchface. Go ahead, we'll wait.

Religion has always been a way to convince the poor to die for the rich. "Your rewards will come in the next life. Please kill yourself working."

Even Buddhism has the philosophy of suffering in this life will be repaid in the next. Fuck all that shit. There's no fucking reward, just death. Make sure you don't die carrying someone else's debt.

Even Buddhism has the philosophy of suffering in this life will be repaid in the next.

Not all Buddhism. Zen Buddhism, for example, is very clear that it's all about how you live right now, not later, and has nothing to do with reincarnation myths. Unfortunately, with Buddhism, Christianity and all religions, the dumber varieties tend to be the loudest and most popular.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Then let's say more specifically, religions promoted and encouraged by the rich and powerful. The ones who whip the mob into a frenzy and then are like, "rah rah! You go guys! I'll be right behind you, I just have to wash my grass first. Cleanliness is next to godliness. Yeah, don't wait up for me."

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 days ago

Yeah; for any faith system, you’ll get someone attempting to exploit it to maintain their wealth and power.

Eventually, the entire underlying belief structure that’s usually based on something real becomes overlaid with a prescriptive ideology designed to help a small group of people get their way.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 6 days ago

The most promoted

How does this employee get to say that to the bosses?

I mean she wouldnt say to that to the TACO in chief.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago

She abuses the fuck out of restaurant staff and tips with those fake $20s with scripture on the back, no question.

[–] [email protected] 134 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Wow, she’s talking about embracing Jesus Christ in the same statement as taking away poor people’s healthcare to give tax cuts to billionaires. These Christians love to wear their mascot like a badge while completely contradicting the explicit lessons of the book.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I think we read different books... The Bible I grew up on endorses slavery

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Dude, I’m an atheist, but the old testament is a complete contradiction of the new testament practically. The teachings of Jesus, who these idiots always put front and center, does speak tirelessly on helping the poor and telling the rich to give up their wealth to help others. I was raised catholic in a catholic school and I saw the contradictions as a kid they are so blatant. I’m just pointing out their hypocrisy in being so flippant about poor people suffering to give tax cuts to the rich while waving their Jesus saves bull shit.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

Jesus endorsed slavery. That's all I need to know (though unfortunately, I know a lot more and it's all trash).

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I liked the random acts of foot massage bit though

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago

You like the bible because you're a conservative and it validates your beliefs. I like the bible because I'm a foot fetishist. We are not the same

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

I am always baffled by how a book that endorses blatantly evil behavior is the one these idiots always trot around as an THE example of morality. If abuse, rape, and murder are morality then I'll choose to be immoral and not rape or murder anyone.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 6 days ago

These Christians love to wear their mascot like a badge while completely contradicting the explicit lessons of the book.

Because they don't actually believe in anything but greed. They use religion as a tool to gain power. Hypocrisy be damned, they couldn't care less. It's the religious idiots that refuse to see this that kill me... But then again it's completely understandable, we are stuck in a 2 party system where it's "the ultimate evil" vs "people I generally agree with but don't particularly like." (That goes for whatever side you're on. We all see the politicians the same, except for the insane Trump cultists.)

[–] [email protected] 44 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Christianity has become incredibly perverted. So many of those who identify with it would go to hell if it were real.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

become

Lol right

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The Bible is pretty explicit about that as well. You would think that warning would prevent some of this behavior but here we are.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

sadly if you study up on more than the passages taught on sunday, much of this destruction is in line with jesus and the rest of the bible.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago

The Bible contradicts itself so much it's hard to know what to believe.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 6 days ago

They’ll throw six or seven figures at some charity owned by another rich asshole friend and call themselves Saints. I assume that’s how they trick themselves into thinking they’re anything but parasites.
