Finnish people are fucking crazy (non-derogatory)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Maybe their winter could give us an answer…

By the way, if there's anyone from Finland reading this, hello! 👋😃

[–] [email protected] 1 points 30 minutes ago

I don't think they like to be talked to that directly.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 hour ago

Well we have long winters. That shit has an effect on humans who stay at these latitudes for longer times. In every sense, evolutionarily (light skin, blue eyes), culturally (we're introverted as fuck) and personally (if you don't supplement vitamins properly, mainly D, you will get at least slight changes to mood and whatnot).

I'd like to visit some actually Southern place, like in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Africa or Southern Asia or Australia. First to just see a proper sunset. Secondly, to see whether not everyone is as much of a dick as people I generally have lived around all my life.

I know how fucked up and/or weird everything else here is but...

What the hell is wrong with Baba is You?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

Its secret ending has a secret ending. The secret ending within the secret ending also has a secret ending.

To reach each of them you have to recontextualize what you thought the basic assumptions of game were to do something that's almost impossible.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

Isn't that the whole game, though? Recontextualizing things to solve puzzles? I was thinking maybe it had a fucked up story or lore; I've never actually played it, but I hella want to because the premise of swapping game mechanics with words and such sounds awesome.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago

I haven't even figured out the regular ending yet

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 hours ago

saunas. somehow that's why.

step 4 : software released

step 5 : (tax incomes > autism bux investment) PROFIT

Dang I haven't played Noita in like a week

Thinking about it, it's weird that it has no native Linux version

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 59 minutes ago

By itself nothing. It was more along the lines of "why doesn't the Finnish game support the Finnish kennel".

Noita doesn't even need proton, it's using OpenGL so plain wine is perfectly fine.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 7 hours ago

"Patrick, are you ok!?" "FINLAND!!!"

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 hours ago

Not much I would assume

[–] [email protected] 21 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

I wish I could forget about Baba Is You completely, I want that feeling I got when I did "What happen if I do ' ... IS KEY'?" again.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 7 hours ago

Especially the discovery of hidden content. Need amnesia device for this and a few other games.

Darkness, alcohol, and a lack of oil

joar jakobsson is swedish too

[–] [email protected] 19 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (2 children)

They own mobile games too: Supercell (clash of clans & royale, hay day, brawl stars) is Finnish SYBO Games (Subway Surfers) is Danish Rovio Entertainment (Angry Birds) is Finnish King (Candy Crush & more) is Swedish and RobTop (Geometry dash is Swedish too

The only place to rival them in classic mobile games is Australia which has Halfbrick (Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride) and Hipster Whale (Crossy Road)

Oh and the Nordics are just as successful in mobile gaming with critically acclaimed mobile games: Playdead (Inside and Limbo) are Danish and Frogmind (Badland) is Finnish

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Surprised minecraft isn't on this list!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Notch worked at King before, so MC is directly related to one of the companies on the list.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 hours ago

I think he's alluding to the fact that Mojang is a Swedish studio. And of course Persson (Notch) is also Swedish.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

[–] [email protected] 9 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

it's a dark fantasy survival horror game made in rpgmaker that's pretty fucked up. super eyepatch wolf made a pretty good video on it if you've got time to spare.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 hours ago

Thanks, It was amazing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 hours ago

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 hours ago

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe there's something in the water? (Good things, that is).

What is Finland getting that we aren't?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 hours ago

They have a thousand lakes, you have a thousand island dressing

[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 hours ago
[–] [email protected] 8 points 8 hours ago

And indestructible Nokia phones!

[–] [email protected] 27 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Keep it coming I say! Noita is easily my favorite game of all time. There's an insane amount of depth and replayability.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

So good! I love that I’ve got a ton of time in the game and there are still so many secrets and things I don’t know.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 hours ago

There are still secrets that nobody knows in Noita.

Eye messages, for one.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 hours ago

That feel when you accidentally dig to other half of the map, then find out about the secret other other half of the map.
