I spend a lot of my day doom scrolling and it's kind of hard to doom scroll if you're reading the same shit all the time. I know there aren't that many people on here and that's why my feed doesn't have much variety, but surely I can joint communities so I can doom scroll and give my unprompted opinions to people that probably couldn't care less about what I have to say

If you're a woman, [email protected] is an excellent and very friendly community that gets a lot of posts and comments! πŸ˜ƒ

You could switch from the Subscribed filter/view to All.

If you like animals, I've almost 2000 owl posts you can look through at [email protected].

A lot of it isn't just random pictures, they've got stories to go with them and I'll add facts or answer questions and there's often more pics in the comments, so you can kill a lot of time there.

Doing it for so long got me to volunteer at a wild animal rescue this year so I've been learning more about all kinds of animals and I love to read and research so feel free to ask as many questions as you want. I try to respond to everything.

That sounds interesting as fuck. I love animals. Thank you

Go to the communities tab, choose All instances, and sort by Top Month.

Those are the active communities since it's showing the ones with the most unique IP visits per month as I understand it?

No matter what this place is still small. Technology on .world is #1 with 16,700 users / month.*

I just launched

[email protected]

Which is not active yet, but I'm trying to post a little bit to get the ball rolling.

I like that I reach the end of content. It keeps me disciplined in a way. I’ll be like β€œwhat do now?” And pick up a book instead.

As someone that likes to do a lot of scrolling, I'm also running into the same problem. There really just isn't enough content here for it yet. There's already a pretty small over all amount of users posting, and people have likes and dislikes and tastes and vibes, so out of that small amount, there's only so much to interact with. Like, there's a fair amount of content in ask and chat style communities and TV communities but no one likes everything or thinks the same topics are interesting.

So it really just needs more. So that there's more of the same types of people watching the same shows and interested in the same topics. It doesn't have to be packed in here, it could just do with a little more of something for everyone. It would've been nice if there were more than two people discussing Harley Quinn season 5 for example.

On Reddit I could spend all day every day interacting with my particular interests without ever feeling like I'm being a nuisance or repeating myself. It's nice having a smaller crowd but I'd like something between this and Reddit.

I do that but I still keep getting the sam posts

Top 12hr / 6hr works the best. Active is usually selected by default and rubbish unless you're a reply-guy and want to jump into active discussions. Stick to top for new stuff. If you're still running dry, touch some grass for a bit and come back. There's a decent amount of activity here now that can fill the need providing you aren't just scrolling all day.

You can set it to hide posts you've seen (on mobile) to prevent the issue of seeing them again too.

I would like to touch some grass. In fact I would love you just walk through a forest. But honestly I can't anymore

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Open the window and play some videos games and touch virtual grass then β—‘Μˆ

My list of non-meme, non-politics, and non-tech communities is a comment on that pinned post. To complement that...

click here for a list of meme communities

MEMES, SOCIAL MEDIA REPOSTS, AND HUMOR

Most of these are currently active. (except for the ones with a * which were less active last I checked). Sometimes these include politics but that's not the sole focus.
