My kids enjoyed "Evil Bong" and "Evil Bong 2" they are awful but still kind of funny and quite amusing in their way.

Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang

Hilariously dry comedy with the late Val Kilmore as a sassy gay man. Every other movie I wanted to suggest was already posted here. These are all great choices!

Definitely wacky cartoons like Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog or maybe season 1 of Reboot (part way through season 2, so I don't know whether the rest of the seasons are as light hearted as season 1), both shows you can laugh at the obsurdities of it all and in Reboots case laugh at the very outdated animation.

Anything where the plot literally does not matter so you don't necessarily need to pay attention to it to have fun. Like a lot of comedies or action movies.

This is basically the entire point of the fast and furious series.

Didn’t see it and it deserves to be named:

Shoot ‘Em Up

One reviewer called it “the closest thing to a live action Bugs Bunny movie we’ll ever get!”

What’s the difference between a BMW and a porcupine?

Does it not display correctly for you?

Letterkenny, lot of quotable dialog between the characters, unexpectedly witty considering the backdrop of a small Canadian hick town.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I suppose the Minecraft Movie fits here.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

RiffTrax. Especially the Star Wars prequels and the Twilight trilogy.

Fully expecting flak for this, but Uwe Boll's Postal. It's a gross, idiotic movie with awful taste, and it's not so much that it hasn't aged well, it's more that it was made awful on purpose. that's also what makes it perfect for schlock movie night.

if you've played any of the Postal games, you know what to expect in terms of tone. if you haven't: GOOD. Don't.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Stop..

You had me at Uwe Boll's

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 weeks ago

it's one of his worst! he plays himself in it, but as a pedo. no, i don't know why he would do that.

The Tim Burton Batman movies. They’re hilariously bad, but make for a great time when you’re drunk with friends.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

the Burton batmans are not only the best batman has ever been, they're the best Burton has ever been. i will fight people on this.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I've got your back.

Tim Burton gave us Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman.

Trailer Park Boys - para documentary comedy series showing life of people living in a trailer park

I've seen Team America: World Police on a festival in The Netherlands in a big tent with everybody drinking beer and smoking weed. That type of film is made for that environment. Theres something about watching it with a big group of mellowed out festival goeers thats incomparable.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Uhh I'm more interested in this weed and beer festival, there another one happening?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Well festivals are like our national sport, theres hundreds during the year. The weed thing is not criminalized and the beers is for sale.

This particular festival was Lowlands, but theres Pinkpop, Down the Rabbit hole, Best Kept Secret and many others where you might partake.

Nudist Colony of the Dead is awful and fantastic at the same time. I love getting a friend to go into the movie blind.

Tap for spoilerIt's fucking hilarious watching someone slowly realize that they're watching a super low budget movie musical that's a musical about a bunch of religious types getting murdered by 'nudist' zombies (that basically have the equivalent of fig leaf clothing).

The day I got my best bud fucking blazed out of his mind to watch it has to be one of my favorite experiences.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

The Fast and the Furious series.

So dumb. So macho. So entertaining.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'll only list stuff I haven't seen others mention:

  • Hot Rod (2007)
  • Dude, Where's My Car (2000)
  • Step Brothers (2008)
  • Nacho Libre (2006)
  • Grimsby (2016)
  • Swiss Army Man (2016)
  • This is the End (2013)
  • Tim And Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Billion Dollar Movie is quite the experience

The Evil Dead trilogy.

A younger friend of mine had started playing the Evil Dead game with some of his friends but had never seen the movies. I'd not watched them in years, so I invited him over to marathon them one weekend. We drank, ate pizza and did the whole trilogy, and we had an absolute blast. He loved how different each movie was, especially Heart of Darkness. How each one gets sillier than the last.

A few months later, Evil Dead Rise came out in the cinema, so we had to go see it. While this was much more a straight up horror movie (with a small amount of the Evil Dead silliness), I still enjoyed it (I find horror movies quite funny, like an emotional rollercoaster), but he was hiding behind his coat the whole time, terrified of what was happening on screen. That made it even funnier for me.

Olympus Has Fallen

London Has Fallen

The plot is so ridiculous, its actually comedic.

spoilerIn Olympus Has Fallen, North Korea invades the US 🤭 Absolutely ridiculous, but fun to watch. (Maybe not that ridiculous tho, considering the current administration's incompetency 👀)

If you haven't seen Angel has fallen - rectify this immediately. I'm fairly certain that Nolte just wandered on set wearing his own clothes and they were like, "Great! Let's shoot!"

Pimp my ride

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

The "Bill and Ted" trilogy.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
  • Battle Beyond the Stars (1980)
  • Time Bandits (1981)
  • The Dark Crystal (1982)
  • Krull (1983)
  • Brazil (1985)
  • Big Trouble in Little China (1986)
  • The Princess Bride (1987)

Any one of these are both campy and thought provoking.
