You actively choose not to use it but if you didn't know about such a mechanic, sometimes you might end up like this.

The title you gave the removed post gives enough credence to the removal reason, and it is enough for me to know it's not a discussion to be had in good faith.

I'm not a mod, but as a user, flamebait submissions where someone pretends to innocently "just ask questions" or put out a statement for the primary purpose of starting back-and-forth arguments are super annoying and frustrating to interact with. I have 100 bones to pick with the NDP (despite voting for them) such as over-reliance on consultants and their stance on involuntary medical care that I'd be happy to talk about. That title and your behaviour suggests that's not the kind of discussion that post was aiming for.

The minister's biography line is hilarious.

Prabmeet Sarkaria is Ontario’s Minister of Transportation. He lives in Brampton and drives to Toronto every day.

That's the problem. Not the bike lanes. We need suitable alternatives. Drive to Bramalea and take the GO to Queen's Park you lazy ass, and if it's not good enough for you then make it better, you're literally the person in charge of this. At least you're an improvement over the person from the "sell the 407 for pennies on the dollar" family.

The public modlog gives a helpful hint:

reason: Flame-baiting. If you want a good discussion, try approaching the subject in a neutral manner.

Also please post moderation and lemmy.ca website questions to [email protected] instead of the BC community, thank you.

I'll give this much credit to Trump: he's good at telling people what they want to hear.

Next to nothing he says in that 2 hour speech is based in reality, but it appears many voters want some miracle MAGA fantasy over reality.

How about, a company offering a feature that is OPT-OUT would be responsible for the contents of that feature. That will convince companies to actually require user consent.

The plaintiff here sounds like a insufferable enough colleague to not want to write a card to, regardless of gender.

https://338canada.com/bc/polls.htm

The polls are all over the place. It swings today in NDP's favour because an Ipsos poll released showing good results for them, and Ipsos has an A+ pollster ranking. Mostly the Mainstreet polls are the ones showing conservative leads, perhaps they are using landlines more.

Every vote counts and the only poll that matters is the official tally! Come on BC, make me confident that Rustad and the Conservatives won't fool you.

Interesting that Victoria Beacon Hill is projected as a Green Party Pickup, that projection changed dramatically in 2 days. West Vancouver Sea to Sky also adjusted recently to potential hold for greens.

To OP and any smart coders out there: if you could implement this feature into Lemmy yourself, you could earn up to a cool €6000.

Tell me why

I never wanna hear you say

I want it as the crow flies.

1% / 35% / 64%. I like seeing what's going on in Vancouver and other Canadian cities, nationally, and the relatively active [email protected] (primarily due to @[email protected] 's news posting efforts).

When I'm done then I visit what's Hot and the top 12h on All.

Chapter 19 of the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 edition of Mandate for Leadership (Direct PDF link) is full of policies that would be terrible for the US.

Highlights:

  • Replace national transportation infrastructure projects with a flat transportation subsidy formula to each state (most of whose DoTs don't know how to do anything with money other than build highways)
  • Stop funding mass transit, give public funds to Rideshare companies like Uber/lyft instead.
  • Preserve single family home zoning at all costs. Each state and city knows what is best for their people, better than the federal government, except when states and cities do something that conservatives don't like.
  • Screw California in particular.
  • Trying to reduce the number of traffic fatalities is bad if anyone dare suggests that we have to drive a little bit slower.

Immich is an open source self-hosted in-development tool to manage image libraries from a central server, and sync/distribute them across your devices, as an alternative to Google Photos. Also see: https://immich.app

The important news here is that FUTO has funded full time development on Immich for 3 years.
