The only thing that really concerns me about the election, other than the fact there’s any chance at all trump could win, is the people that are undecided. A decrepit, fascist, fraud, rapist, and convicted felon is running for president vs a female democrat - who at this stage is close to a ‘70s/80s republican, and people haven’t figured it out yet?

They’re eating the cows!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 weeks ago

The chickens too! The poor lobsters. Let me tell you about the lobsters. The boil them alive with their tied up ittty bitty claws. Then apply butter. Everyone's talking about it. I saw it on Facebook.

He can weave his way anyway he wants, as long as it's into a jail cell.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 weeks ago* (last edited 4 weeks ago)

Stop using his word for it.

Weave implies intent, a pattern reaching a goal.

He meanders. He wanders, taking tangents as they appear in his brain, and he eventually circles back to the topic on the prompter (sometimes).

He Family Circus' his way around in random directions and might make it back home if he's lucky.

He doesn't weave, he meanders.

“I love cows” is a terrible headline when he says immediately after that Harris wants to ban cows in the same line.

Which is also a ??? moment

[–] [email protected] -3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Well yeah. Like wtf is going on when he can make claims like that and constantly call her things like a radical leftist lunatic? I’m an actual leftist and I hate her. What do these people think a leftist actually is? It’s absolutely fucked.

Yeah but unironically.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH HIS FACE

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

For a single moment, the Daemon slipped and Donald Trumps soul came to the forefront. Long enough for his facial muscles to hint the motion of what should be a decades long suppressed scream of agony and terror. The Daemon retakes control of the body immediately, chaining Trumps soul into his subconscious depths.

“That wasn’t the deal, Donnie”, it whispered. “We aren’t done yet.”

Ya know how when you're high, and someone says some dumb shit that shouldn't be funny, but it hits just right and you crack up?

His brain rot fans are hearing lots of stuff that hits just right because they share a wavelength

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 weeks ago

Must be like that. Watched a televised rally with a guy and after a few minutes he looks at me and says "So, what do you think?" And I'm like "what even was that incoherent nonsense?". Trump said three goddamn conflicting things in one sentence. Complete horshit. I couldn't fucking believe this guy.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 month ago

Remember, going negative is an effort to suppress turnout for the opposition. Trump voters are much more likely to wait until election day to vote, she gets extra time to convince them to just stay home, to not overcome everyday obstacles or just focus on other things.

If thinking about Trumps failing mental health makes a potential Trump voter uncomfortable, they might just be a little too busy or too tired or too stressed out about other things to deal with the cognitive dissonance of going to the polls to choose him.

It doesn't need to work on a lot of people, but shaving off a fractional percent in key states could make a big difference.

When rumors started that he might be incontinent, his supporters started wearing diapers in solidarity. I don't think anything will deter them.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 month ago (3 children)

His die hard supporters will go along with almost anything. I do think there's a line somewhere that he could cross that would cause some of them to leave, but every time some new thing comes up and they go along with it, that line moves a little farther away.

However, he needs more than just the flavor-aid connoisseurs to win an election. A lot of the people who vote for him will be doing so simply because the feel like things aren't great and want a change. They will vote while holding their nose, or just ignoring all the insanity around Trump because after a while it turns to white noise.

Convincing those voters that Trump isn't going to be a better alternative is possible, and it's probably easier to convince them Trump is old and unfit than it is to win them over on policy arguments. Way too many people vote (or not) based on vibes, and this line of attack works on that level.

An ever changing ceiling based only on the info provided through the media without any self analysis based on any facts.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

I'm mostly concerned that the media has immunized too many people to his madness such that they effectively chose trump years ago and haven't at all reevaluated that decision because the media has been sane-washing everything he does.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

I do think there’s a line somewhere that he could cross that would cause some of them to leave

Apparently that line was telling his supporters to mask and vaccinate.

Yeah, when people call MAGA a cult it’s not an exaggeration. These people are brainwashed to the core. They were parading around in diapers over a rumor that he might be incontinent! That’s not even remotely close to a normal reaction to unpleasant gossip. Normal would be simply dismissing it out of hand because at the end of the day there isn’t really any proof.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 weeks ago

Even if it was true, I wouldn't consider incontinence a disqualifier for public office. If it doesn't impair their ability to genuinely consult experts, I don't think physical issues should matter.

He has far worse problems.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago

And yet they were the ones so adamant they would never wear a "chin diaper" during Covid.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

I'm pretty sure there's plenty of proof at this point.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

We're so close to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 weeks ago

It's almost like we've seen it before.
