Most Justin Bieber songs but I despise his early stuff. I heard baby way too much back when you couldn't escape it

Edit: I thought of an even worse one, pon pon shit from cyberpunk. That song is the only reason bodyheat isn't my go to station in that game.

All I Wanna Do Is Have Some Fun by Sheryl Crow, or any song where the artist is doing that annoying kind-of-singing-but-also-just-talking thing (NOT to be confused with rap, I do enjoy lots of rap and hip-hop). It's hard to explain. I think Red Hot Chili Peppers has a song where they do it too, and it annoys the fuck outta me.

Weezer - Beverly Hills.

Weezer's only good song is Buddy Holly. All their other songs are terrible. And Beverly Hills is the worst.

Shake it Off by Taylor Swift.

When it came out, I was a regular gym-goer. I would spend an hour and a half at the gym three days a week and hear that song at least three times every single time I was there. And then you'd hear it anywhere else that played music as well, like stores. It was just too much.

“I’m blue da da Dee da da da. “

Just typing it out makes me cringe.

Gonna go against the grain here with something classical: Pachabel’s Canon in D. I liked it when I was a kid, for at least the first 10 or 20 times I heard it, but since then I’ve probably heard it thousands of times, and I’m not even a strings player. I’m not exaggerating either; it’s in so many commercials, weddings, movies, just over loudspeakers in the grocery store.. ugh it’s inescapable. Pretty the first few times, sure, but it’s so aggressively bland.

I could have sworn a friend of mine wrote this, because he often said the exact same thing. But, he was a string player.

Personally, it seems like I can't go a day without hearing one of The Four Seasons in media.

U2

Aerosmith - love in an elevator

Any christmas shit

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Oh good. There's someone else who doesn't see the appeal of U2.

And you just don't like Elevator because you missed the expertly hidden, subtle innuendos. 😂

It's weird that I have always liked their politics far more than their music. They were right about Ticketmaster way back in the day and the first to try boycotting them.

Yet god I can't give less of a fuck about their music.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

It's slow, and annoying. He sings in reverse. And it's odd because I actually like grunge music.

That Mariah Carey one. You know the one.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 days ago

She has so many good contenders, but one stands above them all. Good (horrible!) choice.

Take me to church by Hozier

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thats such an amazing song!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I think there's so many Hozier songs that are better, but I agree, I don't think it's bad by any stretch. Maybe just a tad overplayed? Can see how people would hate it for that.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

McArthur Park. I just don't get it.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago

What's not to get? Someone left my cake out in the rain, and I don't think that I can take it, because it took too long to bake it, and I'll never have that recipe again.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Someone left a cake out in the rain. Who even does that?

'Christmas Shoes'. Google it.

Radio Ga Ga by Queen.

I had to listen to that shit played on loop for a week straight when the cruise ship I was working on chose it to be used to constantly stress test the PA system. Any time I hear it now, I get extremely angry and want to break something.

Guns ‘N Roses - Welcome to the Jungle. I don’t like GNR full stop, but the radio station I used to wake up to on the alarm clock would play that song at exactly the same time everyday.

Couldn’t understand why I used to wake up angry every morning until I changed stations.

Black Hole Sun.

It's a tedious, grating and ridiculously repetitive dirge.

Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I might as well go first: Emilia - Big Big World

I absolutely hated it when it was released and played everywhere, and I recently accidentally stumbled across it, and to the surprise of nobody, I still loathe it.

  • Melody of a lullaby.
  • Least interesting chord progression in existence.
  • Lyrics as if they were written by a 12 year old.
  • Annoying motifs.

Honorable mention: How you remind me. I'm not just bandwagoning on nicklelback hate here, I actually kinda like them, at least their first album. But that song is so overplayed and overrated I simply cannot stand it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wow, never heard this one before and completely agree with each point. Not sure where it would've seen much air time in the US back then, though I'm sure my hometown was small enough that no radio station had it.
