put it on my wish list
buy it for $15 in a year
yawn
I'm absolutely ready to pay 80$ for a game. But then I don't want to see scummy shit like lootboxes or advanced access in it. If I pay 80$ I expect to see a game release that isn't half-baked and has to get fixed with hotfixes and patches over the next two months but that just works out of the box and that doesn't try to get me to spend even more money on it. That also includes no content that they've already produced being held back for DLCs.
I got bored with Borderlands 3 in one hour. Copy pasta gameplay and I’m tired of the art style and humor. I only paid a fiver but I wish I had bought a burger instead.
Weeps in Canadian
I’ve been paying $80 the whole time! Now I have to pay even more!
Either way I won’t be buying Borderlands 4 for like $100 I can tell you that much.
Guess I'm not a real fan 🤷♂️
I didn't want borderlands even when it was cheaper.
Well, new Doom is 90€ I aint buying that garbage. 80+ € or bucks for a AAA always online slop is just a NO.
Can't wait to play it...in 2035 summer sale. Maybe I'll even get bored in under 2 hours and get the instant refund.
Randy actually needs to see this. It’s reality.
Yeah, I'll fucking pirate it LMAO
Imagine thinking you're not going to pre order this
Imagine preordering a game in 2025.
Didn't pre-order PS, 3, or any of the others, why would we for this one?
Especially with Bl3 getting their eula updated to be horrible
Yeah, the way to make it happen is adding it to my wishlist and waiting for the price to drop to at least $40.
Aw, he’s telling people to pirate it. What a thoughtful guy.
You wouldn't download a shit to give.
More like 80 plus gamers not supporting the NintenoDONT greed trend.
Borderlands isn't that good, Randy. Is anyone that much of a fan of a genetic shooter who's only distinguishing feature was the art style and the number of guns? (which I found got tiresome pretty quickly.) I played and enjoyed the first one, but from what I've played of 2 and the Pre-sequel, it was just more of the same so I haven't bothered since.
Borderlands 3 was the first game I didnt even bother finishing, just super boring lol
You'd think he'd be better media trained by now. But no, here goes the foot in the mouth.
Nothing has stopped him so far, including assaulting the VA of their most well known character
He got the horrible Hand, Foot in Mouth Disease.
Real fans "Find a Way" Yarr.
I guess me and my several thousand borderlands hours are not a real fan then? The games weren't worth $80 even when they came with goodies. They're not worth $80 without the goodies. I'll just wait for a sale.
I'll just leave this skull and bones flag right here FOR NO REAL REASON!!!
Stop buying Gearbox slop. Jesus fucking christ people. Why are they still getting a free pass for being objectively shitty developers?
Tbh, most AAA games are ass nowadays
Suck my cock pitchford. Hope the game bombs as bad as the movie fuckwad.
I got Borderlands 3 free on Epic Games, and it still sit there not being played. Guess it's time to leave this franchise for good.
I can make it happen during a Steam summer sale 4 years later. Borderlands 3 wasn't that great when you compare it to 1 and 2. I can wait.
I don't condone this, but we already had $60 games 10 years ago. If you simply add inflation you'd be at $81 today. That doesn't even take into account that modern games also have larger budgets compared to back then.
Video games really are a cheap hobby comparatively speaking. I still wait for sales of course :)
That doesn't even take into account that modern games also have larger budgets compared to back then.
It also doesn't take into account how much more they make even at the lower price points
If game companies want more money for their games they can start by cutting the worthless CEOs, not raising prices
Games have also gotten massively cheaper due to distribute due to digital downloads being the most common, and they're making way more sales due to gaming having a much larger audience.
The main reason these games have ridiculously inflated budgets are because execs are pushing for more management, which in turn push for oversized teams making design-by-committee out of fear of making something people don't like. The gamin industry doesn't get to make excuses anymore. Them being unable to reign in their development budgets aren't our problem. They need to figure out how to offer games at a lower price, because they're going to run out of customers willing to pay otherwise
Games have been surprisingly inflation resistant. I paid $70 for Playstation games in the 90s.
I'm a huge borderlands fan. I will not be buying this for $80 lol.
Or we'll boycott you shit ass companies
Randy pitchford?
THAT Randy Pitchford? The Randy Pitchford that, because he loves magic tricks, downloaded himself some squirt porn (sfw youtube link to moistcritical) on the same thumb drive as company secrets, and then left it at a Medieval Times? The same Randy that grabbed the Claptrap VA by the junk because he was tired of voicing Claptrap for free and had the audacity to ask to be paid so Pitchford tried to intimidate him? The same Randy Pitchford that somehow "lost" millions dollars of Segas money causing Colonial marines to bomb so that they could fund Borderlands 2 and Duke Nukem Forever
Fuck that guy. Fuck anything he says.
No, no, you don't understand, the girl was doing a magic trick! He only consumed that just barely legal content with professional interest in mind.
I can make it happen? Okeydokey! 🏴☠️
Too much games to play on the market to justify the urgency to buy it at release for 80 bucks. they now compete with free to play, gamepass, Indy games, piracy, and tons of past games with lower cost.
The fomo of newly released games is low when most games are released in shitty state and need 1/2 months of patches/fixes and that's not even taking in consideration that the best experience is when all the dlcs are released and make the game finally complete.
The AAA industry is fucked. In a world where quality games are released each weeks they are often but even the best way to have fun with our limited time, like tepid Ubisoft games...
Honestly, in my opinion, there's too many games to justify buying it at all. I enjoyed one and two when I was a kid, and there wasn't competition for the genre. Three I think was free on Epic or something, so I played and it was fine, but not great. I don't expect much from four, and there's companies I'd actually like to support instead.
Yeah I'm really starting to feel like we're gonna see a lot of these companies shift from doing big AAA games to instead publishing small indie games. Almost all of these big companies have indie publishing arms now and as they start to see good profits from those without having to take on the cost of paying devs themselves I wouldn't be surprised if they start cutting back on their own dev teams and shifting to that.
