Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I would support an investigation into Bono. That South Park episode pretty well summed up why I dislike him. I'm sure he's a decent guy, but yeah, pretty smug. (I don't really, shut up.)

We already know Oprah is terrible for platforming a bunch of terrible people (Doc Oz, Doc Phil, that rapey guy in South America). Behind the Bastards podcast has that info.

Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé are totally awesome. Let your bullshit investigations reveal how cool they are. We're ready.

If Clownstick starts sending famous people to private prisons, that might actually piss off more Americans than a change in their own lives would.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 22 hours ago

The old playbook. I guess step one would be to see their papers.

Oh he finally figured out that Born In The USA is not the song he thought it is?

Number of entertainers prosecuted by McCarthy is staggering…just saying.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don’t think anyone knows who that is anymore.

Well they should. His BS was the gravest violation of freedom since, well since slavery ended. If people want a quick story they can read about Lilly Hellman and the Children’s Hour.

Ashley furniture needs to investigate Vance asap!

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago

It's JD... I'm sure he went for white Swedish IKEA first

[–] [email protected] 93 points 1 day ago (2 children)

And Vance the fucking babyfaced moron had the gall to come to Munich and talk about how concerned he was for freedom of speech in Europe 😂

[–] [email protected] 7 points 19 hours ago

Come on, pay attention. “Freedom of speech” means, and has ALWAYS meant “receiving no criticism but maybe receiving praise for saying slurs.” Everyone knows this.

[–] [email protected] 58 points 1 day ago

It's always, always projection.

Because they all have more money than him? Maybe not Bono but Oprah and Beyonce have tens of billions. He might as well add Taylor Swift and Marshall Mathers while he's at it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

He was tweeting shit about her too right?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

He'll add Taylor Swift and the red M&M.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

He's just using the government as his personal squad of goons to intimidate anyone that has slighted him at some point. And he's very easy to slight.

This isn't the derangement of one orange madman

This is the derangement of an entire government

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago

A whole country if you really think about how that government got there in the first place!

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I want investigations into Oprah but not because I'm a snowflake racist who can't handle criticism.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'd like someone official to pull at this thread

[–] [email protected] 2 points 19 hours ago

You're not kidding. There are no words to describe. Just the set of circumstances that made this possible leaves me speechless.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

She's too powerful. I've said for years I bet she has nukes.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 day ago

Would be weird if she turns out to be the one who saves us all.

Can someone tell the orange moron that criticizing him is a First Amendment right of every American?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

No, 1st Amendment is only for him. Fuck the rest of you.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 day ago (2 children)

For how long is it gonna stay like that?

Also for how much people are touting the First Amendment it seems pretty useless if you're a regular Joe and the government can just pick you off the street for talking shit about them and ship you off to God knows where. Even if you eventually get out, can you afford to not work for a few months while imprisoned? Can you afford to pay the lawyers that will fight to have you freed?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 day ago

"You can beat the rap but you can't beat the ride." This has been a police intimidation and harassment tool for a long time, now being openly deployed by the US president against his political opponents.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is what courts and congress needs to work proactively and not retroactively.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago

They are working proactively… for this.
