Over 40, been a beer lover for 20 years. Haven't been drunk yet, no plans to. I love beer, but I hate the idea of a hangover. 1 cup of water for every drink, and it hasn't failed me yet.

4 or 5, though I have no active memory of it, but apparently the day after my dad's birthday, my younger brother and I found the crate of empty-ish beer bottles from the party the night before, and we drank the little leftover beer from those bottles. Apparently we slept like drunk roses the rest of the day.
After that I never drank alcohol again until I was well in my twenties. I remember being drunk off champagne one New Years Eve, I was 26 at the time, to drink away the lonely feeling I had at midnight, when I was the only single guy in a party filled with married people. We had done the countdown and at midnight everyone turned to their partner to kiss them a happy new year, and I had no one, that was the most miserable start of the year I ever had. So I disappeared in a bottle that night.
14 I think. Stopped completely shortly after I was legal at 19.
- Little me waddled around the house when there was a party. Parents didn't look for like a minute and I found empty beer bottles and tried the last drops in them. Turns out it doesn't take a lot of beer to get a 2 year old drunk. Slept very well afterwards.
14 as well. I used to play in a marching band as a kid and we traveled abroad for a couple concerts over a long weekend: picture an unsupervized child surrounded by enabling adults in Southern Germany with access to free beer for one night.
I drank almost 3 liters of beer (yeah German beer is better than any other, sorry), got escorted to my hotel room by our town mayor, where I proceeded to expel my soul via esophagus and... March and play on the morning of the next day.
I was right in front of the bass drum.
20 years later I can steel feel every hit like a clear pain deep in my skull bones.
18 I think. We were much more interested in weed and LSD.
That's funny, I get to ranting about the commies after I've had a few as well.
- There was this bar/disco that had entry from 14+. What could possibly go wrong :). Drank in the woods on the way there
Never. Am 38 currently.
Good for you! Sincerely!
First drink? 19
First time actually drunk? 21
Last time drunk? 29
Number of times actually drunk: 3 I find it really an unpleasant feeling and not just the hangover. Being drunk and not having complete control of my body, the weird fog in my brain. Yuck... Couple that with the hangover the next day, it's just not worth it for me. I never saw the point of going out with a group of friends to just get "wasted".
Current Age: 54 and I enjoy 1 to 2 glasses of wine at dinner with my wife around 3 or 4 times a month. Once in a great while I'll get a 6 pack of beer. Usually when a local brewery has their Dark Doppleboch out.
I feel the same but about being stoned.
i've never been. straight edge since i was 13
Probably about 14. My parents had a well stocked liquor cabinet. Enough stuff to where I could try small amounts of various things and not be noticed.
ITT: people bragging about how they don't drink.
Projection?
Idk if I was drunk but I was probably 17 or 18. Had some jello shots it was a good time.
18, my soon-to-be-first-girlfriend was hosting a party.
I still have a fondness for coconut rum and sprite and big naturals.
I was 21 years old.
CW: Descriptions of Being Sick
Decided the best way to begin drinking was to do shots of Southern Comfort with my roommate. I got like blackout drunk, woke up hours later needing to vomit... I ran to the bathroom where I found my roommate passed out in the bathtub in the fetal position in his own sick. I turned to the toilet as the SoCo and bile made its way to the top of my throat, it was go time, now or never... to my horror both the seat and the lid were down. My mouth filled as I tried to get the lid open and then... disaster struck. The puke hit the diagonal plain of the half raised lid and sprayed all over the walls and toilet tank. I then slipped and face planted into the tank giving myself a black eye.
I didn't drink for two years after that night.
Never.
I’m the same way. I’ll have a few drinks but never to excess. Not to pass judgement on those who choose to enjoy without inhibition but I just don’t find enjoyment in not having my wits about me.
islam?
Not interested in getting drunk.
I am fine with one drink.
Never. My liver doesn't process it correctly. If I have one drink I'll puke for 3 days.
Can you still enjoy other recreational mood/mind altering substances?
I've only tried edibles and they had no impact at all. Whatever's going on with my liver may also put me in this category:

50mg in gummies did nothing, 16mg in coconut oil did nothing. I need to try upping the oil dosage.
Also strangely resistant to anasthesia. Had to be put under for open heart surgery and kept talking to the doctors:
"So should I feel something yet?"
"Hang on, it's coming."
"Feels like I should be counting backwards or something..."
"Let's up the dosage..."
Are you a redhead by any chance?
Not a redhead proper, but I have the recessive gene. My grandmother was a redhead, and while my hair is black, my beard comes in black, red, brown and blonde. Well, now turning white. ;)
It was my brother's graduation party and i had pretty much free access to Hugo and other sweet booze. Huge mistake. Ended up vomiting in my sleep.
Mines similar. 14, cousins wedding. Every table had a bottle of champagne and us kids swiped a few and hit the parking lot
12 or 13
36 I believe, I planned it because I rarely of ever drink alcohol, but wanted to experience being really fucking drunk, got a few people I trusted and got really fucking drunk, they didn't.
Was nothing really fun or entertaining, didn't help any depression or anything. One of the most annoying and just no benefit for me drinking.
Have not drunk alcohol sense, don't see any point
First time I was somewhat drunk was when I was 17 (it was on Eastern). Drank some beer and told quite a lot of stuff I shouldn't have said.
First time I was really fucking drunk was on a friends birthday party in Oktober that year. Never have been drunk that much since then, but this is primarily because I don't really like the effects of alcohol.
Even tho I was drunk as fuck that night I was absolutely fine. Didnt vomit and had no after effects the next day. I was still drunk when I woke up, but I was fine.
23 - woman I was dating at the time introduced me to it. I miss her.
16 or 17. Drank a whole bottle of jack Daniel's and the only thing other than that, that I remember, is asking my friend as he carried me into my house if I was drunk.
I'm in my mid 30s and have never been drunk before. I don't like how alcohol tastes and drinking it doesn't really add much value for me. The only alcoholic beverages I do like are Baileys, Pisang Ambon (mixed with 7up/Sprite), white chocolate liquor and Tokkelroom. Recently discovered Salmari and I like that as well. I very rarely drink any of that, though, and when I do it's like one glass at most. Tokkelroom though...I like it so much that I wouldn't be surprised if at some point I ended up eating all of that in one go.
- Back then they was the legal age limit for alcohol. Nowadays it's been increased to 18, which is probably more sane. It won't stop ppl from drinking earlier, but at least it'll make it less easy and appealing.
15 - an alcoholic neighbour of a friend of mine saw me an my 2 friends hanging at a playground at night and invited us for a drink. He was quite drunk already and passed out pretty soon after so we stole the rest of his beer and wine and went to my friend's place to continue drinking. Pretty fun experience all in all. R.I.P. Eki.
Did you have a hangover for hours the next day which made it difficult to watch the Superbowl?
17 I think. I had had a few drinks prior to that but actually drunk not unril then
On my 21st every guy at the bar got me a different shot.
I don't remember much but I made it home and turned myself inside out.
I didn't want to get too drunk ever again
I'll let you know when/if it happens.
I was too uncool to ever be in a binge drinking peer pressure situation and have yet to find an alcoholic drink I actually like the taste of, so I've never managed to drink enough in one sitting to feel any significant effects.
Don't get me wrong: I want to like cocktails, as all the flavor combinations seem pretty interesting. It's just that whenever I actually try one, I'm disappointed by how the bitter taste of the alcohol ruins whatever else is going on in the drink.
Ican only drink something if it's somewhat diluted. If it's too noticeable Iepxerience it like how hand desinfectant smells. Especially high volume stuff. Just not enjoyable. :/
What I actually enjoy is a citrus heavy gin tonic that is basically diluted to <10%.
But I probably could drink it without gin anyway.
Now something like Sake (for example mixed with yuzu) actually tastes good without being heavy in alcohol taste.
Amaretto and Coke is tasty. Doesn't taste like alcohol at all to me; i dont particularly like alcohol either, but do like the flavors it introduces for cooking.
Yeah, same here. I'm middle aged and I've never been drunk. I don't see the appeal, and most alcohol is nasty.
8 or 9. My dad let me have a little too much Seder wine.
