I'm guessing the faces many people make and put on the picture used for their social media videos looking like they just shit their pants or ate a lemon are going to continue to get more stupid until it's just a pair of giant eyes and a sphincter
That everyone will accept the loss of the real internet for the dystopian nightmare we have now.
And that it will get worse in ways we cannot imagine.
You can move to the dark web, there's more stuff than black market shit and it looks like 90s internet.

Web 1.0 was open and democratic. Accessible to all.
Web 2.0 was designed up be exploited by large corporations to control the flow of information that humans can access.
This does not really cover the question but the use of companies pushing stuff by using the term viral the way a high school student council poster would use popular. Its like they do something online and of course its practically impossible to have zero participation in stuff (especially if you pay "influencers" to shill for it) and then call it viral even though the majority of folks didn't participate and don't care.

Skibbidy reminds me so much of early YouTube though. It's so fucking stupid and senseless.
I mean, between peanut butter jelly time, the fucking badger song, or even as far back as the bizarre dancing baby, it's all dumb and senseless.
Kids are fucking stupid, lol. My wife is a nanny and texted me to ask if I understood it one day. I csn only figure that its the appeal of toilet humor combined with it annoying the shit out of adults.
Stuff like the casting couch or piper memes. I feel like porn centered memes isn't something a 60 year old will be eager to share with their children.
"Oh honey, I don't remember. The internet was weird back then" but it's not something you actually forget. Not sure if it counts as meta. Shitposting will definitely be misunderstood and frowned upon.
100 year old millenials with alzheimers having a nonverbal meltdown anytime anything vaguely resembles goatse, and noone can figure out why.

I'm never gonna give up watching these types of videos. I'm not going to let down the content creators who make them. And, I'm never gonna run around and hurt these creators who put their heart and souls into the videos.

Please put an NSFW tag on this. I was on the train and when I saw this I had to start furiously masturbating. Everyone else gave me strange looks and were saying things like “what the fuck” and “call the police”. I dropped my phone and everyone around me saw this video. Remember Bad Luck Brian, Scumbag Steve, and socially awkward penguin? If you don't recognize those characters and know what they represent, the text around them won't make nearly as much sense.
They’ll always exist in some form. You could say comics in the newspaper were a version of memes before memes.
meme'ing is older then color film, it will probably be a thing that last longer then you want. It communicates a subject that goes beyond language
MUCH older. Shakespeare made a ton of contemporary references, and was referenced in turn by others during his days. Those were memes.
Medieval writers included strong biblical references, and we have some "entertainment" that is purportedly extremely funny and popular, that's basically the medieval equivalent of Loss.
