I guess it would be nice to have people think equally of men and women, but I don’t think the better way to do it is to create fake stories on 4chan
The story is absolutely fake, however...
It's satirical. It's basically making fun of something that does occur on the subreddit. There is very much a double standard going on over there, and this story is a satire of that.

Yeah, I have to assume 18 year old women are on average way, way, way poorer than 40 year old men. That’s true regardless of the gender, 40 tends to be a pretty high spot in personal capital.

The AITAH people are nothing if not weirdly observant of what happens on that sub. This would be caught immediately
The text is probably made up, but people have done such swap posts several times before and got similarly opposite results. Usually the posts get removed from the sub when someone eventually notices the deception, but you can still read them if you have a link. It's a very toxic sub.
This post is just a 4chan user doing the only thing they know. Eat hot chip and lie.
This is remarkably accurate actually, AITA is a dumpster fire. And most of the posts are a work of fiction, I suspect.
Yeah that subreddit in particular went to shit when the news sites started using the posts to generate content.
