News and Discussions about Reddit

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

:::spoiler Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

So obviously I'm an idiot, I thought GoonCaves was the group people posted pictures of computer rooms overflowing with empty coke bottles, cigarette butts, fast food containers, and the occasional piss jug. What group am I thinking of?

EDIT: NeckbeardNests, that's what I was thinking of. Now see, that's just wholesome internet content.

noooo, that used to be my favorite subreddit to scroll with my husband and go "What the hell is wrong with these people!"

They had this great elitism about how a proper Goon setup needs as many monitors as possible, which is such an arbitrary thing to get hung up on when your hobby is watching porn all day. It was fascinating to watch!

Fly high, Gooners.

Some go as far as to define themselves as ‘pornosexuals,’ people with a sexual preference for porn over real-life sex.”

Y'all motherfuckers need Jesus.

What is this? Joseph Gordon Levitt's hit movie 'Don Jon'?

Sure, they take years to ban things like r/jailbait and all those fascist subs, but people with rooms to jerk off in a step too far.

I have zero interest one way or another in people who have the resources to devote a space to this, or the ego to want to share that space. It's a completely foreign interest to me. But to ban people on the internet for being sexual in a way you don't understand is equally beyond me.

For those who don't know, a "goon cave" is "an area or room dedicated to long masturbation sessions", or "gooning"

fuckin hell. Why are so many weirdos on reddit?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 months ago

"The Web brings people together because no matter what kind of a twisted sexual mutant you happen to be, you've got millions of pals out there. Type in 'Find people that have sex with goats that are on fire'and the computer will say, 'Specify type of goat.'"

There are a lot of people on Reddit and Reddit makes it easy to organize by whatever degenerate interests someone may have, such as sharing their goon cave

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Makes sense, I thought it was about goons (crime) or gooning (evil goon voice "what up, boss?", "Yes boss").

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

There are multiple meanings. "Hired thug" is also one of them.
