I'm currently taking a dump in the state of Georgia USA. (My home state)

I wish I was taking a dump in a mansion on the French Riviera.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

My friend, as soon as the bathroom door closes the outside world exists entirely in your imagination. You can be taking a dump on the Rocinante if that’s what your heart desires.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

As someone who has taken dumps in mansions in both the state of Georgia and the French Riviera, I agree. Costs a lot more in the French Riviera, though.

Want to watch the aurora but it's raining, god damn it

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

Scrolling Lemmy instead of reading the book that I'm pretty into. I've been staying up too late reading lately, and its not late yet, and so I could read now but inertia is keeping me doomscrolling

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

Doomscrolling instead of sleeping

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago

Working. Not working.

This is also my answer.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago (2 children)

pooping at work instead of exploring the multiverse in a scifi timespace ship

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

I just read Tau Zero by Paul Anderson and I think I'm good on large-scale travel now

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

Dang, exploring the multiverse sounds way better. I like your style!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

Awake on Lemmy because I can't sleep.

Watching Elliott Smith vids on YouTube instead of sleeping

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Playing game on my pc. I'd rather be doing something I haven't done before like go drinking all night, travel, go sight seeing, hell, even have sex. Literally anything other than sit at this computer

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Have you tried not sitting at that computer?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

My only other options are sitting and reading or sitting and watching TV. Just one of the benefits of living in the middle of nowhere

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You always have the option to go for a walk, nature is quite beautiful in most non-urban places.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You make a good point. Maybe I'll try that a little bit more often, we'll see what happens

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

It definitely helped me a lot more than I expected. I got diagnosed with depression about 2 months ago and made a point of leaving the house at least once a day, even if it's just taking out the trash or going to get groceries. A walk around the block is even better, but I get that it's difficult to actually do that every day. But having accomplished something, even if it's just a tiny goal, made me feel better.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Glad you're feeling better. I can't quite say the same but I know it's a process. So, after hearing that maybe I'll try it out. Get some coffee somewhere outside of the house, walk. If you can do it then I can do it

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

You got this man, feel free to hit me up if you want a stranger's perspective on things :)

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Grumpily observing the ampere app on two devices I'm charging simultaneously, disappointed the charging brick isn't living up to its hype of 67W. Yes, I even pulled out the converter website because the app provides both mA and voltage.

I could be snuggling cats. Spooning my girlfriend. Settling in for the night, but, alas. I was promised "super fast charging" and only got "fast charging".

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

Priorities, am I right?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I wish I was still gaming but I gotta get up early to take my car in for an oil change

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

If you're handy, I encourage you to look into changing your own. Biggest hurdle for me personally was knowing where to drop off old oil. Also, fumoto valves. Game changer.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Just got out of the hot tub, feeling pretty good about everything right now.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago (2 children)

You share that with a lady or other partner?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 6 months ago (2 children)

My wife would LOVE It, unfortunately since we got it set up, she's been fighting a wounded foot and can't get it wet. :(

Maybe 4 more weeks?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

what about going in the hot tub with the injured foot stuck out?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

That would be super hard. The lounger seat might work, but the other seats are too deep to allow for that.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Oh no, that's a shame. Hoping for a speedy recovery for both of your sake!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

Yeah, we both have physical stuff going on, hence the hot tub. :)

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Hitting on a Lemmy power mod, smooth move

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

LOL - "Power Mod". Do 2 big groups and some tiny ones that are barely surviving count?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

Well those communities make up like half of my posts, so I feel like you’re everywhere lol. If I skip the news community and the ones I mod, I think almost all my posts go to your communities. Mostly just politics ig

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

😆 Definitely happily in a relationship here, no such intentions! ✋

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Watching a shitty movie (Battlefield Earth) and scrolling Lemmy.

Wishing I was being ploughed by a cutie with a huge cock.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago (1 children)

eating cookies instead of having a loving trusting mutually attractive partner to cuddle with.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Go out and socialize. I was lucky to have met someone at a party that ended up as my life partner. But it wasn't without me getting out of my comfort zone. I'd never asked anyone out on a date before. My two relationships before then happened because the other party asked me out. First one broke up with me after 5 months, probably thought I was boring. Second one divorced me after 12 years. (Married young, she turned out to be very weird as we grew older, and I didn't have the balls to end it for fear of being alone and hurting her.)

Literally one or two weeks after divorce was finalized I met this girl at a party at a mutual friend's place and I said to myself, there's literally no time to waste if you want to be happy. You gotta grab these opportunities. Gotta seize'em. Ask her out! Nothing to lose!

So I did. A day later on Facebook. 🫣 But she said yes and here we are with two kids.

Go out there! Get yours! ❤️

I'm preparing to go to bed instead of painting Warhammer 40K Orks.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Orks? Orks?! Paint them tomorrow. And then show them to [email protected]

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago) (1 children)

Chances are low I'll do that, I paint for myself. I like painting models since it is analog and I work on a computer all day. It's an activity that I do for my own benefit thus I'm reluctant to share with the public for fear of losing that feeling of self fulfillment. I'm also a far better painter than a photographer.

Edit: Your genestealers are coming along nicely.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Thanks so much!

If you ever change your mind, the 40k community here is very relaxed. I love seeing projects, and can give (wanted) tips on either painting or photos at least within my skill level.

Sitting at work, instead of being out taking photos of birds with my new camera and lens!
