Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

Star wars star trek and stargate are all too woke. That's why I'm a starship troopers fan who is completely oblivious to satire.

I did hear something about a new show having no white men it it or something which I guess has pissed some people off.

I think it is kind of silly to swing from all white to all of another group. Sure they have been kind of excluded but you should focus on eliminating bias.

Then again, I don't really care enough to complain much.

Disney Star Wars is simply trash. There's no need to even call it woke.

Not all of it, their animated side is cooking up fire. The bad batch is great, I'd highly recommend it. Tales of the jedi was good, and I'm excited to watch tales of the empire.

Live action Disney star wars is definitely trash though, save for andor of course

I liked Rogue One too. It had some weight. That Darth Vader close up fight scene at the end was the first time I recognised him as a terrifying force and not a cartoonish bad guy.

If orgot rogue 1 was disney as well, thats a good one

Meanwhile, Discovery’s main cast contains a gay couple who head up science and medical, a lesbian head of engineering, a non-binary ensign, a first officer who is in an inter-species relationship, and a black female captain named Michael.

Fox News viewers would have an aneurysm watching that show.

The original Star Trek had interracial kisses

Well now you’re just bringing up the Fox News team google search history

Oh shit that's a good one.

I was just thinking about Discovery because I need to watch this week’s episode.

This is like, “Tell me you’ve never watched Star Trek without telling me you never…”

I saw the image first. But as I checked the username, I already knew it was you.

Quality meme, as always. 👌

Thanks! This was one that I made back whenever this was in the news, so I'm shamelessly posting it again.

You must have quite the trove of created memes by now. It's honestly impressive!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Coming up on a year... averaging 1+ memes per day... yeah, I should probably organize them a bit more, but shit, it's been a helluva time.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

In honor of today’s date:

Your ~~clones~~ memes are very impressive. You must be very proud.

FOX: "Trek isn't woke!"

Star Trek: laughs in Let That Be Their Last Battlefield in 1969

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Fox would 100% be leading a charge to cancel Trek after the kiss.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago

Oh fox would be doing full stochastic terrorism over it

I forgot to save that the first time I saw it. Thank you.

I myself had to dig back to whenever I made it and move it to my templates/common responses folder.

Should be Good-gey. Badgey would’ve embedded a virus in the meme.

This may be the one time a Jedi and Klingon would flight side by side to slay a common enem

Klingon: "Worry not pacifist one, my targ could slay this menace with a rusty bat'leth"

Jedi: ignites lightsaber "I shall stand with you"

Klingon nod of approval

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago

While I doubt the Klingons would ever choose to ally themselves with the Jedi (because why would a warrior race need allies), they would certainly find the Jedi to be noble warriors, and worthy of honor.

Now, if there ever came to be a Klingon Jedi… that would be one formidable being.
