5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials or celebrity gossip is allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis.
7. No duplicate posts.
If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
Not only tourism. Scientists are cancelling conference attendances of fear they‘ll get harassed or deported (which already happened). It’s such a shame because science need exchange.
They'll have to hold their conferences somewhere where they're safer.

I read the entire article and not once do they mention this is due to Trump. They just say the current administration. God these fucking media outlets are spineless fucks. To be fair, this is much deeper than Trump. The cancer runs deep, in the veins of all the legislators, judges, advisors, and voters who enable this behaviour unchecked.

Might be something else too. Many people are so sick of hearing about certain people that they've set up filters to avoid any news about them. So what better way to get past that than to just keep the references generic enough to get the views through such blocks but still be accurate.

The Olympics and World Cup should be relocated away from the US.
As much as I agree with don't go there, the Olympics were in Russia and Brazil not too long ago and the World Cup in Qatar and Russia. If those places were fine (which, from the looks of them, they werent) then the US is still ok to handle them for now.
I see a different pattern of corruption and bribery, including the US.

Who wouldn't want to vacation in a country where one could be snatched up, held for weeks or even months, and finally deported? If you're very lucky, you'll be deported to your home country.
If are thinking about coming to the U.S. this summer for vacation, please do not. Things are bad here. Worse than the news is letting on, even. PLEASE don't come here. Things are only going to get worse this summer.

I used to think I might become a snowbird, but since 2016 I found the US visibly declined every year, and that accelerated sharpy during COVID and of course far more so now. Needless to say I'm not going in the short term, and I'm not hopeful the country will still exist in the long term.
