Seriously though, good luck everyone. Shit is only going to get worse before it gets better.
Genuine question:
How do courts and the legal system actually enforce these decisions? I can't see US Marshalls walking into the White House and handcuffing trump. So what is it that they can do, if anything?
I'm surprised how little it's known, but judges, when issuing contempt decisions, can deputize as necessary. Resulting in arrests.
The US Marshalls are not needed for that. The supreme Court also has its own marshall.
The separation of powers has teeth, it just hasn't commonly been necessary.

I'm just a layperson, but my guess would be that they could start from the bottom and work their way up. They can't touch Trump, but they can start sending US Marshalls to round up the underlings that refuse to obey the orders or the court.
Now would the Marshalls do that? Who the hell knows. And maybe there's a problem with that plan I don't know. I like it better than just assuming the executive branch is defacto untouchable.
That's going to lead to an armed confrontation at some point that no one wants. Though, you never hear of a coup by the judiciary. That would be something new.

Inquiry? He said "fuck you I do what I want". Inquiry complete. This is now a kidnapping. Sure you can't arrest the main cult MAGAt, but everyone else involved can get warrants and arrests.
Launch some fucking armed personnel to detain the people ignoring court orders and get some answers, you ineffectual fucking buffoons.
So after a two week inquiry, there may be a finding. So now we're going to have to have a hearing to see if the finding is worthy of an inquiry to see if contempt of court charges are warranted. After that will be a hearing to discuss that this is the first of Trumps ten attempts to violate court orders and then they'll be an inquiry to discuss an investigation over the possibility of holding a hearing where consequences may be threatened.
The thing about due process is that it’s a process.
By the time all that's done, there will be a litany of other human rights violations committed by the Trump administration

Perhaps they should try writing a strongly worded letter with recommended follow up actions to the administration.
A two week inquiry? What in the actual fuck? If I disregarded any judge's order my ass would be in prison for contempt. But Trump gets to disregard every court up to and including SCOTUS and he's met with a two week inquiry where nobody is going to recall a single fucking thing? The US has fallen to a dictatorship. Our little democratic experiment has concluded.
Trump is fucking untouchable. Unless there's a physical arrest, he can continue to ignore whatever the hell he wants.
Two weeks to decide which things or new rulings they've made fucked them and why and then they rule they were incorrect which has happened in has American history several times including roe v Wade during most of their tenure.
Meanwhile, a family is missing their father and his life is in danger every day he's in that torture chamber. Heck, he's probably dead already
Unfortunately, this may be exactly why they aren't trying to get him back. The entire reason he was in the US, was because he was being threatened by a gang in El Salvador.
My thought as well. It's not "won't return him", it's "can't". Poor guy is probably already dead, and they won't return the body claiming "an unfortunate accident" because he's either cremated or showing signs of torture
Oooohhhhh. I can't wait to see just how sternly worded that letter is going to be.
This is lightspeed in justice system time... this had better lead to some actual serious hearings and consequences for non-compliance, and no room for stalling and delaying from the Trump admin.
Or very importantly when the trump admin ignores it, everyone needs to be paying very close attention, and screaming at the top of our lungs.
I'm afraid they're following their own chaotic plan to disobey the law (the constitution), and normalize it so everyone gets used to it. And they use whatever propaganda methods to convince their base (easily) its all ok or for the good.
Once this happens, then they can start doing even worse stuff. Who knows what else. They can't be allowed to cross this line, but I'm not optimistic at all.
Can we skip the inquiry already? They're skipping due process to send people to death camps.
Until we're holding people in contempt, the judiciary isn't fighting the fight we need them fighting.
