I have worked at several very shitty TV stations. The least shitty was least shitty due to the station having a dog that liked to walk around and hang out with you. He would scratch to come into my office, sit there with me for about 10 minutes, then ask to be let out and go hang out with someone else.

The rest of the job sucked, especially my abusive boss, but I miss that dog.

Kind of wild that anyone could be abusive when they have a dog visiting them regularly. Was their heart made of stone?

My immediate boss wasn't the station manager. Also, the dog technically was there as a 'co-host' of the local afternoon "let's never cover anything important ever" talk show. But since that was a half-hour show and all the dog had to do was sit there...

So he had to spend all day "working" even though he only really did a half hour of real work every day? Sounds like my job!

And he got loved on all day long!

They are clearly labelled as a volunteer. I bet they only get paid in treats and I guarantee they need more belly rubs

We need to unionize the dogs.

Dogs desperately need class consciousness, they'll even work for cops for free.

What an absolute joy she must be to have around ❤️

Where do they allow dogs in hospital? Are we talking regular hospitals?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago

Yes. Common thing at children's hospitals to have dog therapy programs.

Seems like a recipe for MRSA.

The Wexner medical center, probably for specific dates/times etc. But I've been to multiple doctors that have dogs full time.

Hopefully she's well compensated with treats.

Serious question... are volunteers "hired" or is there a different word that applies to allowing people to donate their time at a business without the expectation of payment? In this case it's a dog so it doesn't really matter either way but I'm curious.

Technically you can only volunteer at a non profit organization, if a company wants to do that it's called an unpaid internship.

That employee absolutely knows who is a good boy or girl.

I wish that could be my job
