Summary

A CBS News poll shows Donald Trump starts his transition with widespread approval from Republicans and net-positive ratings from Americans for his Cabinet picks, including Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.

Many expect his administration to lower grocery prices, a priority for voters amid lingering inflation concerns.

While Republicans are optimistic about the economy and America’s future, most Democrats remain apprehensive, though fewer feel motivated to oppose Trump compared to 2016.

The poll also highlights renewed GOP confidence in U.S. elections and a strong preference for increased presidential power for Trump this term.

I am beyond suspecting, but am solidified in the thought all this media coverage is fake...

They perhaps interviewed a small number of people for appearance sake, lets say 25, and the data from that is extrapolated into a nationwide "opinion".

And Trump reads the conclusion, proclaims in a speech that he has universal approval, other folks hear him say that and think oh well he is saying it as the grand king with the whole intelligence apparatus behind him, so it must be true.

This is what social media is about anyway (warping appearance of something) and now is rolled out over other media...

Singular thought is steamrolled over so it all goes back in submission.

And the populace sits there, eating the brown slurry dumped in their bowl...

He's doing a great job. I mean...his transition is being funded by god knows who and he has yet to sign the transition ethics papers, but what the hell? Why not?

Reality doesn't matter anymore.

The U.S. is a stupid country and it'll be fun to watch it burn over the next 4 years.

Just remember, these people voted for this.

I'm tired of hearing my suffering is great because other people voted for it. What a shitty way to be

tribal thinking got us where we are today

Well, those idiots are in for a rude awakening on Jan 20th.

Dumbest fucking people on earth continue to be dumb. News at 11.

HOW? Good lord I hate people.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 20 hours ago

It's the same incoherent feels that informed these voters to vote for Trump in the first place.

From this poll, a majority are optimistic on the economy and that Trump will bring down prices, and also favor his tariffs and deporting "all" immigrants here illegally. They seem to have no idea what they are even saying.

This time, Trump has a staff on hand to actually deal with the transition.

CBS News poll finds Trump starts on positive note as national media continues to push incomplete or incorrect information

Just a reminder that the US media is profit driven and like any business, is only concerned about money and its shareholders.

If you feel strongly, organize and show up.

"Most are wholly ignorant of his transition handling"

[–] [email protected] 4 points 16 hours ago

Or "CBS pushes false narrative to curry favor"

[–] [email protected] 5 points 17 hours ago

That's the most American thing I've heard recently

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 day ago

Fucking hell.

I thought this was the onion for a hot second. :(

I keep getting humor news sources confused with legitimate and vice versa. I have to keep checking, is this real or not. Almost fell for a humor news earlier because everything is mostly ridiculous now.

Every day we learn more and more about how gullible and ignorant the US population has become.

People who have landline phones and nothing better to do than watch Fox "news".

That's what they said about Harris's weak numbers and every time someone brought up how Trump was gaining for an entire month before the election. I think the first step is acknowledging how much support he has. And then to face the fact that Republicans now control the presidency and have majorities in the supreme court, the house, the senate, total counties, state legislatures, and state governorships. I don't think we can blame that on landlines.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Both can be true. People just didn't realize how pervasive ignorant people that own landlines are.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

People who own landlines are many times more likely to vote than those who do not understand how a landline works

[–] [email protected] 5 points 18 hours ago

Pretty sure the overwhelming majority of people that own landlines don't have a single clue how they work. Phreakimg is nearly lost knowledge at this point.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 23 hours ago

It literally makes me nauseous seeing how total their control is. I don't have the stomach for what's going to happen over there in the next 2 years, and how bad the world is going to regress because of it.

It's going to be a dystopia worse than anything I've ever read and all I can do is watch on in horror.
