Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Grab them by the sacred places. When you're rich, they let you do it.

He also appears to have sold nuclear secrets to the Russians, which also sounds sort of important or something.

Also exposed our perception capabilities by distribution of imagery in it's native resolution.

He doesn't give one flying fuck about anything except worshiping at the alter of his ego.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 4 months ago

His cultists don't give a fuck. They don't give a fuck about anything. He didn't lose any votes here

And when you're a maga they'll let you do it. Thumbs up in the graveyard, insurrection in the Capitol, you can do anything.

No shit, right? It's not just Trump. There's a whole lotta people there. Completely free from consequences, every single one.

You can see why, as much damage as they do, how appealing it is to live a life like that. Fuck the living, fuck the dead, fuck the future. Just do whatever you want.

And he fucking does not care about it. According to him, the people buried there are "losers", in case you have forgotten.

As the operator of the other circus once said, "all publicity is good publicity," and "there's a sucker born every minute."

And as the other clown, Dr. Strangelove, once said, "the whole point of a Doomsday Machine is lost, if you keep it a secret!"

The idea of a Federal cemetery being "sacred" and the strangers buried there being "honored" is so far removed from the every day fight for survival of the average, brutally exploited wageslave American, the notion that starting a fight there could budge the needle on an election lacks credibility. However, injecting the knowledge into the global zeitgeist that there's a cemetery in America where rows of uniform gravestones extend as far as the eye can see, marking the depths of USA's brutality and Will to Power - that sends a message.

The media for the last eight years should just be running a weekly column called "This time Trump went too far and now his supporters will turn on him" and then they can just recap Trump's actions from the previous week. Meanwhile his poll numbers will remain exactly the same as always.

The only truth Trump ever told was when he said he could shoot a civilian on Times Square and not lose any voters.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Thats assuming the media (especially the broadcast media..) reports on what he did truthfully and with the full details.

Which they rarely, if ever, do.

because they have a vested financial and ratings based interest in the chaos he creates, because it drives ratings and enriches them.

This... the media is made up of businesses with shareholders. They do and say what is best for those shareholders. Not what is best for us, or the country, or the planet, or anything else. Expecting them to do otherwise in the system they exist in is delusional.

and you can blame the elimination of the fairness doctrine for the bulk of that.

Because, like everything, it sucks because the Republicans fucked it up so they could manipulate it to their advantage.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago

Sadly, the fairness doctrine doesn't seem like it was particularly constitutional. I suppose you could argue that a corporation has no right to free speech. Getting into that debate would be complicated. But that seems like the only way to fix this.

You know those videos of people talking on their cell phones during the changing of the guards at Arlington, or videos of total, antisocial assholes fucking with the sentry? Those are Trump voters.

They also litter all the time. Every time I see a car throw some giant bag of convenience store food wrappers out the window there's MAGA bullshit all over it.

Let me know when he gets any kind of serious punishment for any of his activities.
