Not typically, I’m usually talking fast trying to get an idea out of my head and communicated but they find the need to interrupt with low effort jokes.
Having lived in different areas of the US I do find it’s fairly regional. I can go back home and joke around and be a smartass, but if I tried it here people would find me extremely rude.
It depends on if they're sarcastic smart asses, or know-it-all smart asses. I prefer the former.
They're preferable to dumbasses.

The reason I left Reddit was because the top comments-- no matter how serious the topic-- were dumb jokes and snide remarks. So in that context, no.
