1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

https://ciechanow.ski/mechanical-watch/
This website is incredible if you are the type of person who LOVES knowing how things work. The link I posted is to his mechanical watch post, but go to his archive and look through his other content. Every topic is filled with a series of interactive elements that REALLY shows you how something works. I think his internal combustion engine post is awesome as well. If you like this kind of thing and want to support it, he has a patreon too.
That post is fascinating. Thanks!
neal.fun is probably sort of known because a lot of his individual sites have gone viral, but just look through the whole catalog, there's some amazing stuff in there
https://solar.lowtechmagazine.com/
A solar powered website about past and forgotten technologies and how they can inform sustainable energy practices
Why does the website literally look like shit? It wouldn't cost them any more energy to serve better CSS. Whose idea was brown on brown?
Looks like it's inspired by Solarized to me. I kinda like it actually, much better than black text on white.
I was about to make the same comment. It looks like my terminal.
Catb.org
https://www.geogridgame.com/ - daily quiz based on countries/flags
I think that's about it; I tend to stick to the things I've been using daily, none of which are that small.
Damn this seems cool
You can do the previous ones too
Finally I can showcase my awful geography knowledge :3
