So you see, a good reason to go to the polls (if you're a US citizen of course) is to make it so Musk and other billionaires will have wasted all that money.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 4 months ago

A billionaire supporting a republican candidate that has proven he only cares about money and power? Ah, just another Tuesday.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

So he's just looking to lose ALL of his money for stupid pursuits. What a fuckin' genius.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Meh, I wanna see receipts. I hate the dude, but he's also a habitual liar, like Trump. So I wouldn't put it past him to make this up.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

My guess is he's just trying to stay in the headlines / be relevant.

Elon Musk is a giant piece of shit.

[–] [email protected] 56 points 4 months ago (3 children)

Fucking piece of shit. He provides no value to society. People at his companies may, but he's fucking shit.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 4 months ago

He's literally one of the biggest drains on society in existence. He uses as many resources as thousands upon thousands of people produce.

The ironic part is, despite being a large shareholder of a company named Tesla, he's a modern-day Thomas Edison.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

At least Edison was also an inventor and not just a thief and a fabulist.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 4 months ago (2 children)

People at the companies he bought and didn’t create

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I agree fuck musk but you are straight lying, he is the founder of SpaceX and spaceX is the most important company he owns I would say.

The incredible engineers at SpaceX are why it's such an amazing entity though, not musk rat.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Ok but he straight up bought other things, like Tesla

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago
[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

And tried to ruin.

[–] [email protected] 70 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Imagine how much actual good could be done with all that fucking money.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago

Instead it's put towards a horrible cause that will destroy the nation. Thanks leon!

[–] [email protected] 30 points 4 months ago

Like converting it to dollar bills and burning it for warmth come next winter. That sounds less wasteful

[–] [email protected] 103 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Elon can fuck off forever. I'll never willingly spend money on anything he profits from. Fuck that self important piece of shit.

[–] [email protected] 58 points 4 months ago

At this point Teslas may as well be MAGA hats

Musk had indicated that he planned to start his donations in July, one of the people said.

So July, August, September, and October. 4 x $45m, or $180 million (at least, though maybe he's going to donate another $45m for the week before the election - not a bad strategy if you can afford it). Presumably to flood the airwaves, Facebook, Fox News, CNN, newspapers and every other form of media with messages of Donald Trump.

Musk has styled himself as a free speech "absolutist." But when you are expressly taking all oxygen in the room so nobody else's message can be heard, doing something that only a handful of people are privileged to be able to afford to do, it is impossible to reconcile that with "free" speech. Unless your conception of "free speech" is that only those with money are entitled to it.

And...that's of course the answer.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 4 months ago

"Free speech for me, but not for thee."
– Elon

[–] [email protected] 17 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That's because Trump supports the Working Class JUST like Elon Musk does!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Get in your knees, open your mouths and taste that sweet freedom trickling down.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

It's only freedom if it happens when bald eagle.
