What if you have a cold black dried up heart that is unable to relate to imaginary characters?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 months ago

You say that as if those people don't game anyway.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 6 months ago (1 children)

for someone who doesn't know D&D, dungeons and dragons will likely sound very scary

[–] [email protected] 16 points 6 months ago

Two days later, "Would you like to invest in a fantastic crypto opportunity with me? "

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Is there a Fedi for looking for D&D groups?

[–] [email protected] 30 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You fell for the trap. Roll to see if you can escape. Your game has begun.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 6 months ago (1 children)

My dice roller app said I got a 19. It's on.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago (2 children)

You needed a 20 to escape. Now back to the cauldrons of deeper consciousness. You awaken on a bed made of old wood and only a candle lighting a room.

It was small, maybe 10x10. There is a side table with a key, to unlock the door and a book.

You must roll to choose one or the other. One leads to knowledge ahead. The other is your way out.

Setting a lvl 1 trap to DC 20 makes me iffy about starting a campaign with you.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You are now the DM.

Sucker!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Rocks fall, everyone dies.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

That's how I like my DMs. Always trying to kill the party.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I would like to use the book to beat down the door.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

You get the book of knowledge. You can now ask about any enemy and their stats and strengths and weaknesses through the entire campaign.

You must roll under 10 to get the key to escape. For every roll you lose 1 strength until you obtain the key.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

I'm gonna need at least 3 day notice to prepare my backstory text~~book~~

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

I wish this would happen to me

[–] [email protected] 13 points 6 months ago (2 children)

I'd love to learn to play D&D

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago

Roll20.net has some free games you can join. I'd suggest 5e to start, and using 5e.tools for looking stuff up

[–] [email protected] 18 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Unless you live in a very tiny town, you probably have a local game store. If you do, go in and make friends and you'll find someone to show you the way.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 6 months ago (2 children)

go in and make friends

These are some "draw the rest of the owl" instructions right here.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 6 months ago

If there are two places in this world a socially awkward person can make new friends, it's a game store and a comic book store.

You don't even have to do it in a "normal" way. In fact, in a game store, just saying, "those dice look cool" would be enough.

The crispness of this photo for such an ancient screenshot is incredible

[–] [email protected] 14 points 6 months ago (1 children)

What strikes me is, how old it is, how close the time stamp is to the precise anniversary of the original.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago

Indeed, almost exactly 12 years to the hour (depending on timezone). I wonder if this was intentional on the part of OP?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

Now I desperately want to see it crushed into oblivion where you can almost count the pixels

[–] [email protected] 37 points 6 months ago (1 children)

They upscaled and restored an internet artifact. A meme archivist.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 6 months ago (1 children)

They're doing HD remastered memes now?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago

Can't wait to get Charlie Bit My Finger on bluray.
