Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. - Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

And those politicans are wondering about someone who won a primary in New York...
Won’t somebody think of the billionaires??!?!
MOAR BOOTSTRAPS!
It's OBAMAS Fault that Republicans under Trump are CUTTING my Food Stamps! MAYBE if I vote for Republicans AGAIN I'll get them NOT back!
Not too long ago, I got to hear a magamushbrain tell me how Taco was going to "hopefully" fix this terrible Biden economy. He was doing just fine under Biden, as was I (he was gainfully employed, had a house with a fixed mortgage, etc.). I asked him exactly what that meant. He said Taco was working to undo the oligarchy which was Biden's doing.
....we are in fucking lala land here, is all I could think to myself. Trying to talk sense to someone that thinks the economy was just fucking terrible under Biden but is now being righted by Taco? WTAF. I could have pulled out charts of the S&P doing the swan dive it did during the time this very conversation happened and it would not have meant anything at all.
the upside is that a lot of broke willfully pridefully ignorant magas are going to learn just how socialist they actually are
Living in a red state.
They won't learn shit.
Misled people always learn the wrong lessons every time.
learn
Lol...
The downside is those people have kids that didn't vote for this.
And while I'd like the people that did vote for this to understand what they supported, I really don't want them to starve either. It feels more cruel than helpful. If we're supporting basic human rights, which we should, that includes shitty people, for better or worse.
this is true. but the other replies are true too: they will say my kids are starving and it's the democrats fault
because in a post-truth world, right-wing claims don't need to be supported by reason, logic, evidence, or....anything. meanwhile claims from "the left" can be supported by mountains of research, facts, and literal "this object i have in my hand exists" evidence, and it's still considered "fake news"
I agree with the assessment of willful/blind ignorance. This could hardly be proven more than by Rep. Kat Cammack blaming the Democrats for Florida's abortion ban almost killing her. But while she almost got her own face eaten by the leopard, there would be some karmic justice there one could argue, but again, to see people in America suffer or die for very preventable conditions is insane to me.
The real upside, if we wish to see one from this spiteful and asinine budget cut, is an opportunity to show we're not whatever it is they've been told we are. Make sure your neighbors and family are ok, if they're MAGA or not. We can look for revenge, or we can live in an egalitarian way that we'd want things to be. Don't preach people your beliefs, show them why you believe it. You won't always win people over, but most folks will remember if you gave them a hand when they needed it and didn't guilt them or hold something over them, but were just a good human being.
We're allowed to be mad. We deserve to be mad. But we should still act right. Somebody's got to be the adult in the room.
They aren't going to put two and two together. To them they earned it by paying taxes, it's only socialism to them if it's "free" (which literally nothing is)
They don't learn. They'll just blame Democrats yet again.
