They're cowardly bigots with superiority complexes.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Masks or not, they're going to get themselves killed.

At some point, someone will resist being abducted and take one of them out. A mask doesn't stop a bullet.

It just hasn't happened yet.

How many of them will be brave enough to show up for work the next day?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

A mask doesn't stop a bullet

Well, actually...

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I'm going to preface this by says that I do not like ICE at all. And I do not agree with the why people are being deported.

But, if one of them get killed, the rest will probably still show up to work. Cops get killed almost everyday here, and the departments are still full of cops.

What will happen is the fat Cheeto in charge will use it as an excuse to impose martial law.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

martial law? oh no, are they going to go against the constitution and start arresting people without any justification or warrants? go against judges?

wake up guys; you're not free.

also fuck cops. they're trained to be pussy ass bitches and will sacrifice anyone and everyone else in order to not get killed, including children. you are so much more likely to die at work if you're a fisherman or logger (or a bunch of other occupations) than if you're a cop.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Yes and a person driving to work gets killed every day. And so on.

Its a large enough group where that's almost background noise.

  • They do not identity themselves.
  • They refuse to shows badges.
  • They hide their identities.
  • They would rather leave then try to do what they claim their job is when confronted about any of this.

At what point can we start calling them paramilitary?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

they're straight violent criminals. there's no proof any of them are working for the government. I'm just surprised in the US of A where people fantasize about shooting each other only the entire time they're awake or dreaming have not yet shot masked randos kidnapping people off the street in broad daylight.

I'm pretty much leaning into conspiracy here and think more people should too. If you really want someone to do something about this we'll need to get the right wing people in on this. Otherwise we'll all just talk about it online but not do anything about this.

I have a feeling this is some type of Private contractor situation which is why they don't want to be identified.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

So far, confronting them and demanding they identify themselves while filming / live streaming has been pretty good at making them leave.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Which to me is a big clue that maybe it's time people need to find ways to identify them. Something isn't right. This isn't just being worried about being doxxed for personal safety. They're hiding something big here

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

They're hiding their identities likely for several reasons:

  • Some are almost certainly not even government employees.
  • A fair number probably belong to known right-wing terrorist orgs.
  • Some of them are "closeted" neo-nazis who don't want people in their communities to know that they are neo-nazis.
  • They fear retaliation for their blatantly illegal actions. Inaction by those with power to help is forcing the populace towards violence as the only means to justice. Also, underground resistance networks have historically conducted assassination of ranking members of occupation forces - they hope that this will protect them from the inevitable consequences of their actions if they succeed in holding onto power and unmaking the last vestiges of democracy.
  • Concealing identity provides similar deniability for their heinous actions to that of firing squads and other executioners. This makes it easier for them to excuse their actions as "just following orders" (you know, the perennial nazi defense to avoid accepting responsibility for their own actions).
  • Concealing their identity is part of the terrorism. If it's not possible to know who these people are, they could be your neighbors, or schoolboard members, or even family. This uncertainty is intentional to try to keep the populace in fear of retaliation of exercising their Constitutional rights or resisting. (ie, if your neighbor is an ICE neo-nazi and you don't know, they can inform on you to their superiors, if they see you leaving for/arriving from a protest).

If I said no you're wrong. What exactly could you say that isn't just "it's true because I dreamt it's true"

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm not saying that there isn't "something big" (though, these other things are pretty big).

Here's some examples of things that I mentioned:

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The reason I pushed back is because I kind of was going for something where we don't make excuses for why they're doing it. Especially if it's just making an educated guess. What would that accomplish?

The point isn't to justify their mask wearing. The point is for us to push questions, just like conspiracy theorists do. That's what forces answers from our representatives. If we stop the questions every time by giving an answer there's no momentum. Every person on the left needs to get better at driving pressure to the right places. We saw this with masks during COVID to the point that people thought they would die from wearing an n95 mask. Is it stupid? Yea. Did it work to drive public opinion to ban masks? Fuck yea it did. And that pressure didn't build because people on the right stopped every other person on the right who brought up the idea that masks might suffocate you. They all had enough social awareness to take those dumb ideas and build off and spread it. They created memes and found studies that supported their ideas. They shared articles of masks killing people. They pushed it all to every comment thread under every politician they could and in every online post. They weren't idiots. They knew what they were doing. The left were idiots for thinking they didn't.

This is a point I want a lot of people too understand here. The left call the right leaning people idiots. They're fucking not. Not even close. Are there idiots among them? Sure. But as a group they are leaps and bounds ahead of anyone on the left. We have a serious problem on the left and I'm not sure how that gets solved because it first needs an awareness of how the left may be dumber and less effective than the right.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

EDIT: Sorry. Different thread.

[–] [email protected] 50 points 2 days ago (2 children)

are they enforcing laws though? They seem to be breaking more laws than they enforce.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 2 days ago (3 children)

even if they were, the denial of due process is the most abhorrent part of this.

Giving ICE a large heaping benefit of doubt, every person who has been deported should have had their day in court.

This is rotten all the way down. The legislative branch has done fuck all. States governments haven't done shit to stop ICE. Judiciary hasn't held anyone into account.

We, the people, can't do anything except watch in horror because we're all scared shitless.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

And I still hope we find the strength to rise.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago
  • states except for California haven't done shit to oppose ICE
[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Pretty sure that's their point. It's not legal to dodge due process.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Exactly. They’re kidnapping and breaking tons of other laws just to hit made up quotas (in addition to being lousy with racist fascists).

I can’t call that “enforcement” of anything. Every ICE member, deputy, bounty hunter, and political enabler, belongs in jail.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

I'd be lying if I said my men weren't committing crimes

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They never question whether or not they're wrong.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

My sister has a lot of anxiety about whether or not she's acting like our mom, who was a real piece of shit. I always tell her that the fact that she's even reflecting on it shows that she's not. The defining feature of people who lack empathy is that they don't self reflect. They lack the ability to understand others because they don't even understand themselves.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Exact same thing with my wife. I hate how many piece of shit parents are out there.
