- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Missouri Republicans have repeatedly warned party activists and elected officials that Democrats were threatening American democracy because their party is growing more comfortable with socialism.
Hawley needs to stop begging for socialist handouts and instead tell his constituents to quit their whining and pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
Pretty sure a stated objective of the administration is the closing of FEMA with disaster response responsibility moved to the state. Josh should know this. He should be refusing any offered assistance to set an appropriate example.
Shouldn't he be bugging the governor to find money since the states can handle their own disasters better than FEMA?

He's not, he's just being your typical hypocritical, whiny-ass Republican that only ever cares when it directly affect them. Hey still thinks that only Real Americans^TM^ should be helped.
I think it’s entirely possible that he doesn’t personally care nor actually want federal support, and is just doing motions that signals a semblance of humanity for political purposes.
Oh it won't be a general principle that the government should help people. It should help when, and only when, not doing so would make Josh Hawley look bad.
It would be quit difficult to make Hawley look not-bad.
I think that takes more resources than we can afford.
