We don't need democrat, we need a third party. Both of the parties are ping-ponging us for decades.

Will they actually try to run on a healthcare platform?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

Narrator: No, no they won't.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Dems don’t know how to win a bit without first losing a lot.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

And moving to the right!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

It's funny what you can lose when you're not betting your own resources.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 2 weeks ago

I don’t want democrats anymore. There, I said it.

Seriously, you’re not enough for this old liberal man. I want a safety social net that also protects our lives and every generation to come. I want FREE (paid by taxes) healthcare, education and a working wage with 30 hour weeks. Tax anyone 99% that makes more that 10mil a year. Promote business who have a human benefit purpose. Tax churches that we can prove promote hate, tax corporations that only care about profit… tax items not made to last or be recycled…

Is time my liberal friends, it’s time we write our own project HUMAN playbook.

They could run on their own ideas, but they spent the past 4 years (at least) throwing away their credibility.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Ah, so they're going to go with the ol' "At least we're not Republicans" strategy. How about better wages? Medicare for all? Fucking stand for something, anything! I guess they do though: continued wars, wall street and neoliberalism.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They made it pretty clear after losing to Donald Trump that they wanted to double down on this strategy. They will rather lose than run on a progressive platform.

That's because the current "old guard" Democrats/DNC are the boomers who've been in power since the 80's, destruction of the working class, and regulatory capture of the entire party.

They are a manufactured opposition, owned by the oligarchy and corporations, who do not represent anything material to the 99%.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Ah the ol 'vote for me cause the other party is obviously worse not cause we are that much better' trick.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

And the margin keeps narrowing.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago

So, they think it's in their best interest to let the cuts pass?

[–] [email protected] 36 points 2 weeks ago

Fire Schumer and show us you're serious then. Until leadership steps down there's absolutely no reason to think they're anything but fucking losers.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 weeks ago

... and Schumer's gonna wag his finger really hard

[–] [email protected] 47 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Dear US Democrats, can you please stop being just a fucking brake for the Republican party, and actually turn the wheel when you have the power?

Only using the brake will just mean that Republican policies will win even if it takes a bit of time.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

The last time Democrats had the same majority that Republicans have now was the 111th Congress. It was considered the most productive Congress since the 89th Congress, which was also controlled by Democrats.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/111th_United_States_Congress

The brief period they had majority in the 117th Congress, it was a weak majority and there were DINOs like Manchin preventing progress.

The peak for the middle-class was mid-20th century, when Democrats had the longest running control of Congress.

Congress by party

I know people who make excuses for democrats' resounding successes at working with republicans to block legislation don't like hearing this, but the voters did their fucking part. We gave your garbage quisling party a majority and they did what they always intended to do with it.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

By the data presented, "what they always intended to do with it" was to create the single greatest period of economic prosperity in American history.

I don't believe that's their goal anymore. But that's what they did with their majority. I'm not really understanding the point you're trying to make here.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I don’t believe that’s their goal anymore. But that’s what they did with their majority. I’m not really understanding the point you’re trying to make here.

We gave them a majority in 2020. They used it to block the minimum wage increase and most of BBB. I get that you know exactly what I was talking about the entire fucking time and are only pretending that I was talking about pre-clinton democrats, but that's because centrists are dishonest and take credit for the accomplishments of others.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

It might have something to do with the fact that you're commenting directly on a hard-numbers report about pre-clinton Democrats.

I get that you know exactly what I was talking about the entire fucking time and are only pretending that I was talking about pre-clinton democrats, but that's because centrists are dishonest and take credit for the accomplishments of others.

Way to make unfounded assumptions bud, I wish you could understand how wrong you were because I'd love to see your face about it. If you call me a centrist in person I'll punch you in the mouth.

Complain all you want but do try and have some basis in fact when you do, it helps the argument go better.

Attack template:

"This guy/woman, Rep. [insert Repuglican name here], wants you to die!

Rep. [insert Repuglican name here] voted for you to die, in pain, with no medication!

Voting for Rep. [insert Repuglican name here] is a vote for you to die in pain!

Rep. [insert Repuglican name here] wants to kill you!

You will die in pain and it will be because of Rep. [insert Repuglican name here]!"

You're welcome.
