'Assholes' as in? Because asshole can vary from just casually being a dick to being a racist rightoid.

The latter will be extinct, the former pretty much never because it has nothing to do with any ideology.

You can't get rid of all shitty humans. Some people will just always lack empathy and be psychopaths. What you can do is not reward bad behavior which is what encourages more people to act horribly to one another. You will see a massive drop in overall crime and bad behavior as needs are met and bad behavior isn't rewarded or tolerated by society, but you will always have someone somewhere that will be an outlier.

No, but the number went significantly down in socialist Poland even with the lack of cultural revolution and tons of petty bourgeois sentiment still floating. Then it went rapidly up in 90's again :(

Nope. They'll still exist. They just won't be rewarded for it by the system like they are now, where sociopathy and a willingness to fuck other people over is basically a requirement for amassing wealth and power.

I don't think it's possible to eliminate all contradictions and tensions, so we can figure there are always going to be people who are at odds with the society they live in to one degree or another. Whether that means they are trying to do harm and need correction, or simply that they need better accommodation for what makes them stand out. Incidentally, with regards to accommodation, I don't think the commonly-liberal shtick about letting people "be themselves unless they are doing harm" is entirely misguided as a desire; it's just out of touch when pushed as some kind of utopian step of ultimate acceptance, while ignoring still-existing systems of exploitation that are constantly undoing individualist acceptance because the systems need division to function.

Narcissism and Psychopathy are neuro-divergences. While they can also be acquired over time it is quite possible that they are also something you can be born with. That doesn't mean that Narcissists and Psychopaths are born to be bad people. Some of them can get past their lack of empathy and learn to operate without being assholes but it is significantly more work for them. In the fully automated luxury gay space communists future we will have early childhood detection and training to help these people be cool but that is like the branch of the tech tree below True Immortality.

Well of course not, how would you go to the bathroom? (/s)

But I think it's less "comraderly education" and more just an improvement of human psyche. Without alienation, without dependence on addiction, with better access to mental health services, etc. People will be less neurotic and anti-social. Also without the rat race and need for money then people will have no material reason for people to be paranoid and fighting for resources.

Of course culture will be naturally improved over time and that will help too, but I think the material basis here is equally if not more important

No, but they will be treated for their mental health issues. Some of these assholes are part of our DNA. Like the tribe in the woods needed assholes to keep the tribe strong somehow.

I think its possible. Progress will be exponential

I've undergone plenty of comradery education and I'm quite often a real prick in real life, not always consciously. My social upbringing makes it hard to keep shitty behavior at bay sometimes. So no, I don't think so, assholery is a personality quirk that I think people will just have from time to time.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago

I would have to assume there will still be plenty of assholes. But I would also assume that they would be looked down on by society at large - instead of being considered role models, as they are under capitalism.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I think they'd be a lot less common, but I tend to feel personality is more influenced by upbringing.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah, so with the base and superstructure in a collectivist society, assholes will be virtually eradicated ,right?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago

That's what I personally think.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago

There are billions of people, a few are bound to be dickhead regardless of what ideology is the main

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 weeks ago

I don't think so. There will always be pricks
