Basically take care of your mental health, don't get caught up in a cycle of despair. Focus on what you can do to make a difference and not worry too much about the things you cannot control.

It’s oddly comforting to buy into the idea that killing one man could solve the world’s problems but it’s not reality. Trump is just a fall guy at this point. He has very little remaining mental facilities. He’s a husk. And his absence will only be mourned by his cultish followers.

The GOP are totally cashing in on this. They are the real villains here and are just using Trump to get their way. If he dies, they will toss some other obedient dumbass on the pile and continue.

Luigi got a conversation going and scared rich assholes by pointing out they are literally living in the same hell they built themselves, surrounded by all those tortured souls. But Luigi is not some kind of Jason Bourne. He’s not going to take out the Republican party. No one person can do that.

That being said, we do technically outnumber them. And while distasteful everyone does technically get one chance to murder whoever they want. There are consequences sure but at this point there are consequences for waiting for another Luigi that may never come too.

Personally, I’d like to see another attempt just to have everyone argue over wether it was another political stunt or not.

That's the key: keep em scared. One dude getting killed prevents that one dude from making any more problems, but more importantly it sends a message to the next dude.

If we tolerate oppression, we'll be oppressed. If oppressors are consistently dropped, their would-be replacements will see the pattern and act in a way that preserves their life.

They would just spend more money on security

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Then we can apply to security. Oppression needs to become a mortal liability.

I really don't think that's true. They fucking worship this guy. Remember the tepid responses to McCain and Romney. Trump is unique, they can't replace him. When he's gone they are in trouble. It's why they are trying to set up another coup right now.

They own the courts. They own the election system. Junior has an interest in the throne.

Sadly, very sadly, someone named Trump will be in charge for a long time. Fascism will fall, but not anytime soon.

Eh, Dubya was equally worshipped after 9/11, and now you're not going to find one Republican that will admit to ever supporting him. The strength of conservatism is that you're not expected to have values or be consistent ideologically, it's about being told what to believe.

When Trump finally dies, everyone will pretend they never liked the guy and prop up the next horrible guy.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

He absolutely was not equally worshipped. Trump has ancult like following that dubya did not. People were just united because we got attacked ans forgot to hate eachother for a month

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

In support of the statement that Dubya was worshipped, one can see LITERAL WORSHIP in the documentary Jesus Camp. Children at evangelical camp being led in prayer to a cardboard cutout of him.

There are about 4k billionaires, all in all.

The 2019 heatwave in Europe killed around 4000.

Just saying:

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

There really aren't many billionaires. A few thousand globally. And of that relatively small group less than 100 seem to be fascists critical to powering and funding the American kakistocracy. Math is certainly on the side of the people. So we all sit and wait for others to have nothing to lose

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Exactly. Trump is just a symptom of the disease, not the disease itself.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

no, he's an active threat don't downplay that

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sure, but he didn't do any of it himself. If it wasn't for Putin, the republicans, the media, and the heritage foundation etc whitewashing and enabling his bullshit he'd just be another old bitchy, makeup wearing asshole.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 hours ago

Without Trump, Putin's options will be significantly diminished too.
