How can you be immortal if you are already dead . In any case, you will become a zombie. Sounds familiar …

Immortality

Immortality seems like a good idea, but there's going to be a LONG time from when the last living thing dies out to the heat death of the universe where you'll finally join non-existance. EONs of nothing to do likely floating in a vacuum or being trapped on all sides by rock/debris. No thanks.

Don’t know if that would work as the payment is your life. You wouldn’t be around to receive it. Interesting thought experiment

It basically describes the idea of a digital replicant though. Your body dies but you'd have a perfect copy of your consciousness to continue on without mortal constraints.
