How did the cat get into the van to begin with, unless they have an irresponsible owner who lets them into the garage/outside?
it's almost sacrilegious to tell your cat what to do.
They just do things, they're like passive aggressive adults that can't speak.

Cats be cats. They do cat things, including sneaking into places they shouldn't.
People like to say this but I've owned cats for nearly 30 years now and only ever had one that tried to sneak around.
Oh, so you do understand that some cats try to sneak around, but decided to be judgemental about something you have experience with.
