It could be worse than a blank check. Quid pro quo all over again.

It's a subtle rebranding label to say "both sides" while not actually engaging in discussion of the problems. And there are problems, all over the place. But now not only have they (they are the ones pulling the strings, not MAGA) got the power placement they wanted, they've succeeded in pitting the peons against each other in this rhetoric of finger pointing and blame. Bread and circuses...this thread is an example of one of the rings in that circus.

Both her and Sanders said to vote for the one that could be persuaded to come further left, and you're throwing her under the bus? Wow, it's everyone's fault. Jefferson was right.

Our founders would be so appalled. Total opposite of what they were aiming for.

"I didn't vote for genocide."

"Good for you. Here's some genocide."

They succeeded in punishing the party. For a price. We'll revisit later if it was worth it.

Agree in concept, as voting should mean actually thinking about what a person brings to the position and not just a name grab. However the danger of drawing a line for voting qualification is that the line can easily be moved around with any sort of parameters. Educating the public is the only real solution, but boy that's difficult when the means of communication are loaded to enhance someone's profit and not actually teach substance.

This election was a failure because of the lack of communication, in many different aspects. And now that will become even harder to do.

It's wild how for months leading up to the election there were reports and reports on how the economy is doing great. People who pointed out that they weren't seeing it personally were belittled as not understanding the big picture. And now this election was lost because of economy - one side that I guess didn't say too much about what could improve (there was a lot on Harris' site and policies about it, but I guess that was too much for voters). And the other side who said the same thing as before, "going to have a beautiful economy, the greatest ever seen. No one knew it could be so good."

Well, let's do another four years, see what burns down this time.

Yep, and the important thing about keeping a Democrat governor is their veto power against one of the worst state congresses ever. I actually haven't looked into what changed at that level, but I don't have much hope that the GOP stranglehold was broken.

Living paycheck to paycheck, limited if any sick time to take. Not a great excuse, I agree the common sense thing is to contain and recover, but that doesn't help with the bills or keep the job. Blame the system, not the people in it.

There's C-Span videos online of him doing interviews before he became a US senator, and it's interesting how the problems then are still relatable now. We've gotten better at kicking cans down roads and blaming each other instead of tackling the issues head on.

Quid pro quo. We've seen this before, it will happen again.
