Good. From another article posted here today, regarding NC domestic terrorists:

In the summer of 2024, before Hurricane Helene, Veterans on Patrol was active in Spokane, Wash. In Telegram message from July 2, 2024, Veterans on Patrol announced to the police that it “would no longer be safe” for one of its officers “to work his beat.” The channel also posted the home addresses of city council members.

Remember when we were living in precedented times and elections were boring?

to assist local law enforcement and the Washington State Patrol as needed to quell any election-related unrest.

The same chumps that let armed thugs roll up on him on January 6th, 2021?

Inslee really needs to get a hold of his fucking Sherrifs. Half of these "constitutional sherrif" fuckers who think it's up to them to interpret the constitution are in fucking Washington state. I think the movement started in Washington.

Washington cops are out of fucking control. I don't trust them to be neutral arbiters of the law

This is Washington State, not Washington, D.C.

D.C. doesn't have a governor, it has a mayor.

To be clear, I'm aware, Inslee is my governor. That's why I'm sick of the cop situation here.

On January 6th, we had armed fools rolling up on Inslee.

But the shitty cops issue goes waaaaaaay back.

I remember when a police union ran a police chief out of town because he had the audacity to suggest drug testing his cops after a few were caught doing drugs in their police cruisers.

Fair enough then. The January 6th part made me think you were talking about D.C.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

That's also fair, a lot of people don't know that several states had their own local Jan 6th issues.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

I'm hoping that "assist" here is a polite way of saying "keeping an eye on". Maybe they'll think twice about pulling shit with non police union folks around who could testify against them later.

Honest question(s):

Does the National Guard for a particular state answer to the governor as their "Commander in Chief"? What about State Police, County Sherrifs, local police?

If the former is "yes," and the latter is "no," that would suggest that National Guard being mobilized is a better protection against the actions of fascist police than not.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Sorry, I was bitching about the cops, not the National Guard.

You're correct, they're more trustworthy, and he's right to deploy them and not just rely on cops who don't respect him at all.

I'm just pissed that it's been allowed to fester this long and has gotten so bad.

Yeah, he thinks he's using a fire extinguisher, but I'm pretty sure it's full of gasoline.
