Secret lifehack I found just the other day, block the lemmit bot that reposts stuff from Reddit.

I've done it before, but still get memes and stuff of terms listed on there. It's annoying.
elon israel kamala musk putin russia trump ukraine
There. Now I hid your own post from you.
How to do this on defualt Lemmy on desktop?
Extentions.
In uBock Origin on the dashboard I added:
lemmy.world##article:has-text(/elon/i)
And that blocks any federated posts and comments with that text in the body while browsing lemmy.world. It does not block poats with elon in the title but no body text, so there is probably a title-has-text but I havn't messed around with that.
Add a new row per term you want filtered.
I then turn uBlock on and off for lemmy.world depending on whether I want it to be filtered or not, since it doesn't normally block anything on lemmy.world.
I'm sure there is an easier extension to use, just showing one way on desktop.
I just set subscribed to my default and prune my subscriptions. I like some politics, but I get enough from what seeps through in News, so I un-subbed from politics. I will seek out meme communities that are my speed and leave the rest to their own devices. I just take a peek at "all" every once in a while, and I tend to check out links people post in comments that interest me, but for the most part I have my corner of Lemmy more or less how I want it.
You must get nothing but memes, Linux, and porn.
Eh, not so much porn. There's barely any uploads. Which in turn is why lemmy is so dead.
LADIES!!! GROW LEMMY!!! SHOW YOUR TITTIES FOR THE GOOD OF THE FEDIVERSE!!!
Why don't you do some work? Go and upload the porn you have seen today, maybe we'll have a new post record.
I still have "Hunter Biden" and "Vision Pro" on my list
When you accidentally add PugJesus to that list and Lemmy becomes a void xD
I'd add ben_dover just to make it perfect.
how do i do this?
On Voyager there's a filters and blocks page where you can add whatever filters you want.
