It's implicit. If consent was given, it wouldn't be exploitative. (And obviously, that's contingent upon non-coersion.)

Let me rephrase: "Offering free storage is expensive because you're more likely not to pay us for nitro."

I've got to agree with this. I love Linux and have run it on my servers for years. That said, I've got Mint on my laptop and tried to print an image over wifi at a friend's place and could not for the life of me get it to print properly.

For the most part things do just work, but there are a lot more "obscure" scenarios that are handled correctly in windows but not Linux.

I also find that when things go wrong on Linux, they are harder to fix. I've had several times I've had to deal with circular dependency hell to get something to install properly. I did eventually get those problems resolved, but it was often a single person having a tangential problem that hinted me to how to solve it.

Edit: I think if your usage patterns are straight forward enough, it is by far and away the better choice. If you do the same stuff all the time, it'll pretty much never break, which is not something I could say about windows. So for OP, it sounds like it would be a good fit.

This is a meta-discussion about beans though. We're not talking about beans, we're talking about talking about beans.

I first read this as:

Policeman stole new car from Lansdale Library, drives to police station to ask for drugs back

It did seem a little weird, but still believable.

It looks to me like the back of his chair. Ghost arm is much more entertaining, though.

Yep. The only way to taste wine is to do it blind so you don't have preconceptions of quality based on the price. Doing this really exposes that there's not a ton of rhyme or reason to wine pricing. There is a general trend that you get a better wine for more money, but there are so many outliers, especially expensive wines that just aren't anything special.

The only one I'd take issue with here is Spy X Family. I think it's more of an "all ages" show that focuses heavily on Anya and her classmates antics. All the rest make sense!

I can't second this one enough. Vinland Saga was absolutely fantastic. Although, the first season might be a technical disqualification because of how much time it spends on the MC's youth. I personally think it fits the theme though.

I'd tentatively add Berserk to the list. Tentatively because the story does go back to recount the characters' youths, but that's really not the main focus.

Another good one with mostly adult cast and a more mature plot is Monster.

I don't think it's mere coincidence that an industry devoid of compassion for animals is also devoid of compassion for humans. The issues are certainly distinct, but not entirely unrelated.

Yeah, you're right. And maybe I shouldn't be so quick to assume a lack of interest. After all, there were a lot of people in the lemmyshitpost thread yesterday supporting veganism while also bashing "toxic vegans". It's definitely a good thing if those sorts of people have an opportunity to come here and have any misconceptions cleared up.

I've been learning to cook all sorts of Indian recipes lately. The samosa are store bought, cuz who has time for that. Everything else is made from scratch. I'll probably get around to makeing my own samosas too, some day.

Will post recipes if anyone is interested. ^^

NY-ish style pizza (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

A riff on the classic NY style pizza. Obviously with all the extra toppings, and a cheddar style "cheese", it's not in any way accurate, but it's what I happened to have on hand.

Dough & Sauce:

  • Adam Ragusea's NY Style Pizza v2 [Content Warning: recipe is not fully vegan. It contains cow milk.]

"Cheese":

  • Smoked cheddar style vegan grating block

Toppings:

  • Red onion, mushroom, vegan sausage, fresh basil
