I still like the visual design of a floppy disk.

How else will we iconify “saving” for the next 8 decades of software?

The user won't know what saving, folders, or files even are.

Is there a way to see what date the comics were uploaded? 16GB is tiny now.

I usually just go to explainxkcd. Don't really know about an easier way. https://www.explainxkcd.com/wiki/index.php/691:_MicroSD

Jan. 2010, so almost 15 years old. You could fit many libraries into typical microSD cards now, never mind just an aisle (which is mentioned in the explanation).

I'm gonna have to be that guy and point out that 1tb flash drives are around the same price as 1tb sd cards on average.

The floppy is magnetic media and both the USB and SD Card are flash storage...

The reality is more like the USB told the Floppy to lose some weight, and then the USB went and lost weight itself, and then the Floppy just died of embarrassment.

I guess most of the size of a USB drive is just handle, isn't it? Especially those models where you can retract the plug like that.

Some yes some no. I took apart a 128gig one when I got bored one day and it was pretty long. I'll upload a pic when I get home.

You can get tiny ones that are like a wireless mouse dongle. And double ended ones with USB-A on one end, USB-C on the other so you can plug it into your PC or phone. I keep one on my keyring, with all my favorite memes

your favourite memes huh

I have a 32 gig flippy A/C one and it's amazing. I didn't want it any bigger because lots of legacy devices can't read more than 32 gigs. I can use mine with any of my laptops or phones, and also in the 16yo plotter at work.

Priorities right there

Missed opportunity to show the progression from 8.5" floppies down.
