Is there a way to play this without installing EA spyware?

Does anyone know if the campaign is multiplayer? I’d love to pick up two copies of the game so my spouse and I can give it a go and play together.

I have zero knowledge about Titan Fall apart from the fact you’re in mechs and apparently movement is cool. So no spoilers please!

I don't think it is. I played through it a few years back and don't remember that but I could be dead ass wrong. But the campaign is SO GOOD and relatively short it wouldn't be that bad just to play through it each on your own. The multi-player is alright, the servers aren't the best but you can find matches for sure.

Bought this last night. Gonna play it tonight for the first time

Envious tbh.

Steam says it gets a yellow score for Steam Deck. Anyone know how it plays?

https://www.protondb.com/app/1237970 From what I can gather, you may need to do a little bit of tinkering

  1. This game is easily worth full price for the single player alone. You'd be an idiot not to pick it up for $3

  2. The multiplayer is back, like really back, and it slaps just as hard as ever. This is, genuinely, one of my main multiplayer games right now. The fight to the extraction on a loss is one of the most cinematic moments you'll ever get in a PvP gamemode.

Believe the hype on this one.

Multiplayer actually working? Been having to use a mod to play, but it's been a while

This game is really great and its length make it enjoyable many times.

I played 2 years ago when I was still on PlayStation 4 and it looked great.

The soundtrack is also great to listen to.

One of my favorite FOS of the last decade with the killzone and wolfenstein series.

actually a masterpiece of a game, the campaign is so unbelievably worth it, just keep in mind the vanilla multiplayer is unplayable due to ddosing. if you want to play multiplayer, look into the northstar client

It‘s a fantastic fps.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 9 months ago (3 children)

still not worth installing origin

[–] [email protected] 24 points 9 months ago (2 children)

It’s EA Play now, which is actually somehow worse than Origin was.

Still, Titanfall 2 is actually a great game (probably my favourite of the PS4 era) and is well worth a little suffering for.

What the deal with EA Play? I see their subscription prices and I'm not doing that. Then below that I see the game for $3.99 CAD. Can I just get the game that way and not deal with any extra EA stuff?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago (3 children)

I don't know for sure in this case but some EA games require you to use EA Play as a launcher, even if you buy the game through Steam.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

Ah, that makes my decision easier. Thanks for the info!

For some reason I often have games disappearing from my library, like they don't even show up as purchased in the store..

And I also recently got a notification on top of my library that some games have been removed from my library, but that I can download them again if I go to the store page. It's really confusing as to why they are 'deleted' and why they can't just show up in my library.

I hate these dumb 'user experience' developments where companies are deciding what I should see in my library. I just want to see all my purchases, and have them available to me whenever I want.

This is what stops me from picking it up each time I see it drop this low.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Man, I really should give this game another try. I remember getting it at launch, but completely forgot about it because of other game releases at the time.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

You can run through the campaign in a few hours, so there's very little time investment. Give it a shot!

[–] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

Campaign's mind-blowing

[–] [email protected] 54 points 9 months ago (5 children)

Worth it for the campaign alone at 5x that price. I got the game with no expectations years ago and was very impressed.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 9 months ago

Agreed it's easily one of my favorite single player campaigns.
