I’m not a fan of Laezel so I just let Shadowheart get rid of her.
Dedicate a run where you keep her in your party the whole time. She's a very different character by the end, with a very good overall story.
I ran with the two of them, and a rotating third that eventually Karlach settled into permanently. No regrets, both Shadowheart and Lae’zel have amazing arcs, and Karlach is the teddy bear mascot with a giant trident.

She's the best girl. She's that bitchy goth girl I had a crush on in high school.
She might be rude as hell, but you always know where you stand with her. She's open and forthright, even if it's mean.
