Riverside County Sheriff Bianco has always been a conservative POS. The irony of a cop urging to "put a felon in the White House".

I fucking hate Blanco. I live in the county he is in. When the pandemic hit in 2020, he openly reported to the public that he would not enforce the health orders the county was issuing. On top of that he had many, many of his deputies die in the prison system due to COVID, plus the jail system in the county has been criticized for issues under his watch. Maybe worst of all, he was a member of Oath Keepers.

I fucking hate this dude. To make the matters worse again, back in March, the Riverside County Supervisors voted against separating the Sheriff’s Department from the Corner’s office. Apparently there have been a number of unexplained(?) deaths in the jail system that the department has not investigated after receiving complaints from families.

He is one of the worst people in elected office in Riverside County. Somehow people keep voting for him.

Interesting how often you mentioned that this person often actively does not investigate things. This due to their own reasoning being more important than the law.

Then apparently the county is also the highest in meth. I'm guessing that again they're ignoring things (e.g. reports) because of their own reasons. Which then results in way more meth than it could be.

If true, suggest to wonder why meth reports would be ignored...

Are there any sheriffs that aren't giant cunts?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago

Very very few. They exist out here somewhere but psycho is the basic qualification.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

People who aren't giant cunts generally don't want to be sheriffs.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago (2 children)

I think there's a saying that answers that question

Obligatory crooked timber post:

https://crookedtimber.org/2018/03/21/liberals-against-progressives/#comment-729288

"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protectes but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

It's pretty nakedly just a cult of personality with no other policy platforms that I recognize. For 50 years quality of life for Americans had meaningfully stagnated or declined. It's brutal paying so much for groceries and gasoline when rent has been commodified. Answering that with mythical "I alone can fix it" is a very attractive and easily understood pitch. A lecture about the nuances of globalization and market efficiency is not. As important as bathroom access and preferred pronouns are, they too are not a sufficient political answer for a minimum wage that hasn't matched productivity for decades.

It's a leadership issue but any sane person would never subject themselves or their families to running for office in a news environment like America's. That leaves us with a government composed primarily by clinical narcissists and grifters.

Feels bad.

Great example of how fascists view the law as something to oppress others, not to restrict themselves. "Law and order (for thee not for me)"

Ah, the NY Post, the cheap daily tabloid that Rupert Murdoch's News Corps has owned since 1993.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 months ago

Actually, Murdoch purchased the Post back in 1976. There may have been some corporate reshuffling, but the Post went from being a classier version of the Daily News to a scandal sheet just in time for the Son of Sam killings.

The right wing sites are the only ones talking about it. It'll be picked up by left wing sources eventually.

Here's the actual source of his video if you prefer that instead: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7p3oekNnwS/

I don't have anything against conservative sources when they're decent, it's the trashy part that irritates me. Cheapens everything, there should be some standards of quality instead of just feeding the public's love of basic bitch drama.

Thank you for the extra link, at any rate.

Party before everything.

It may honestly be a good idea to have a republican sticker on your vehicle for when you get pulled over.

Yeah, if you wanna go to jail
