Wait, are they actually doing development work, or are they just merging from downstream?

Can we have multiple columns yet for bookmarks and tabs in separate places?
Vertical tabs will be huge for me. On a big monitor, I don't really mind one way or the other, but I use a tiny little screen on my linux laptop. there is not a lot of vertical real estate to go around, so vertical tabs will be a game-changer.
If the AI features are actually useful (like the automatic page translation they did recently), then I'm all for it.
try tree style tab or sidebery
I like tree tabs, but I hate that you can't easily get rid of the tabs on top, I want vertical tabs and no horizontal ones
you just need to modify the userChrome.css. is one of the first things i do after installing ff
yes please 💜
Been using Winger to manage tab groups using multiple windows, hope the built in functions will have similar options
Is there a decent hover zoom plugin for Firefox? That and vertical tabs were some of the only things holding me back.
Let's go!
We've been listening to your feedback, and we're prioritizing the features you want most.
Productivity boosters like
- Tab Grouping, Vertical Tabs, and our handy Sidebar will help you stay organized no matter how many tabs you have open -- whether it’s 7 or 7,500.
- Plus, our new Profile Management system will help keep your school, work, and personal browsing separate but easily accessible.
Profile management is key
I love Simple Tab Groups extention, hopefully it will be similar
Same. It's honestly really, really good. Not sure what else I'd want from it.
Was using Floorp for awhile because I like the layout with a custom CSS theme. I can't wait for it to be official, because the Floorp developers put on a recent update article that says they are looking at ways to monetize the browser without sacrificing user privacy and security, and I just don't like that thought process at all. I know it is unpaid work, but I already have enough things in my life trying to monetize me. I definitely don't need another!
Here is the update they provided, but under Changes they say,
"Later this year, Ablaze plans to launch a number of initiatives to help maintain the health of the browser and generate revenue from its software in a way that doesn’t compromise user privacy."
I'm more stoked for better profile management. Because the default profile manager is so outdated and basic that it scares me to even use it, out of fear of losing my session.
I actually like the current implementation. I literally use it everyday.
I can define the location of the profile. I can migrate a profile from a different machine (with a different OS nonetheless) and it works.
What would you like to see changed?
For starters, don't hide it away like it is some obscure function of the browser, it should be part of the main menu. You either have to type something into your address bar, or you have to start the browser with a specific command, which opens the actual profile manager that has like 0 functionality.
Have you tried profiles in Arc? They're so seamless it barely feels like changing anything, but different enough you know you have.
Just saw Alfred for Mac had an Arc integration and checked the Arc website out for the first time.
Looks beautiful:
Per Wiki: I see it's using the Blink engine + V8 (WebKit on iOS), and is a new browser released April 2022. Will try it out though prefer to keep Firefox as my main browser instead of one that uses the same engines as Chrome (fighting for the future of the open web and all).
Yeah, same. The profiles and tab groups are all I really want to be in Firefox and I'll be so happy. I hope the new profiles are similar.
Hopefully it's as simple as Chrome's implementation
Oh, this is fantastic! Been using vertical tabs since i saw them with tree style tabs and partially ditched chrome partially because of inability to have it even as an extension. That plus well tweaked userChrome is godsent.
Hope we get a mouseover sidebar expansion too, like edge has for its vertical tabs.
Native vertical tabs! <3
That would save one step in setting up a new system. Tree Style Tabs doors not want to behave right by default I've always gotta use the profile customization. But if that could be native it'd be so nice.
Finally. I have been waiting for vertical tabs for ages. Add-ons work but require tweaking the CSS in order to hide the horizontal tabs.
I just hope we will be able to disable and remove horizontal tabs without using Firefox's vertical tabs. I doubt they will be better than Sidebery. Playing with CSS just to remove horizontal tabs is impractical.
