Imagine just looking out your train window at all the stopped cars.

Highway Six stops both ways!

I spent 2 hours going the 80 miles between Austin and San Antonio, average 40mph. For comparison, in the UK I can go between London and York, which is 200 miles - also in 2 hours, average 100mph.

One of them has a good rail system.

And I'm not even talking about high speed rail.

The American mind cannot comprehend trains.

Not American:)

Rail at 100mph - it's in the comment.

Has been a thing since before WW2 by the looks of it.

A lot of those are toll roads so you get to pay to sit in traffic.

In Houston I often find the service streets are faster than the beltway.

I use Waze to navigate and usually follow its direction. It's pretty aggressive about finding the best route and will take you on an adventure occasionally.

Is Waze functional again? I used it first several years until it started changing my destination without warning mid-route

I haven't noticed anything but the occasional glitch (a reboot would fix) and nothing of what you mentioned. I use it practically every time I drive. Changing destinations would not be acceptable though.

Man, I haven’t been to Houston in years. That’s it. I just wanted to say I haven’t been to Houston in years, because of how good it feels.
