More land locked, less cocaine.

I mean it does get shipped by sea

Yes exactly my point.

Luxembourg is green. Am i seeing that right?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

That seemingly is not Europe, but in fact is the EU.

All drugs should be legal and regulated

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Why can I only read the word "methamphetamine" in Trevor Philips's voice?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

On the risk profile of the drug, Turkey and Romania win.

MDMA is actually probably the most harmful of that list if it's being abused, but I understand your point. It's just so damn neurotoxic

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What’s the difference between amphetamine and methamphetamine, in terms of street drugs and their effects?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

They spawn different types of creatures. Like with speed, you get runners, with meth you get clickers

I'll do cocaine with ya.

You'd think Netherlands of all places would have data. Did the authorities just give up or what?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The cops were too stoned to care...

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 week ago

Cannabis use prevalence is actually kind of low in the Netherlands, many european countries where it's illegal have higher prevalences. Turns out, legalizing cannabis doesn't turn everyone into a stoner.

Ya know, I remember watching Breaking Bad and thinking it was odd that the international contact was in Czech Republic.

Most common stimulant drug after caffeine

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It says "most frequent stimulant seized", I doubt much caffeine is being confiscated!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Well, technically it is for customs purpouses

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Where would caffeine be seized?

And Tobacco. Greece smokes like a chimney. Pretty sure Turkey isn't far behind.

Sugar highs are not actually supported by science.

Although, at some point you get into murky territory about what defines a drug, that's true. Relevant XKCD. I'd say in this case the social understanding that achieving a change to state of mind is the primary goal of a practice is enough.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, I didn't know that about sugar highs, TIL, thanks!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

No problem!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Ok, I might be nitpicking here. But why do the Netherlands get "No data" while a bunch of other counties are just left blank?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Netherlands: No data

Switzerland: Especially no data, mind your own damn business

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It must be on purpose right. Only thing i can think of is that there were enough studies done (opposed to in Belarus for example), but they contradicted each other.

The EMCDDA is an authority from the european commission, thus has gathered data from the EU (2014 including the UK) and the affiliated countries Norway and Turkey.
