Chapter Master: Adeptus Dominus
Essentially a free, fan-made 40k game originally made like 20 years ago by one guy who has since moved on. Now it's a small team who drop semi-regular updates on github. Also, it runs on Linux
Just finished playing Morrowind for the first time in decades. Half-tempted to go back and do it all again as a pure mage.
Failing that, I have so many games in my catalogs that I'm not sure where to start. Maybe Portal Revolution, maybe Brütal Legend, or maybe I finally get into the Witcher III. I keep trying to like Ride, but racing games never feel remotely like actually riding or driving a vehicle and I always spend my time in the weeds.
Elden ring nightreign. I've beaten 3 nightlords with randoms.
So, I'm thinking of starting, for the third time, Witcher 3. I liked it the second time I tried it but there was something, off about the game.... I think it's time for another try at it.
I love CDPR, I have enjoyed Witcher 1,2, and Cyberpunk 2077 is my most played game of the decade at a solid 1000 hours.
I have bounced off Witcher 3 no less than three times and i still dread going back to it. The entire opening up to the griffin is such an openworld slog that by the time i get to the empire I am burnt out and don't want to continue.
And this sucks because I've heard just how good the DLC is
Hey! Quit stealing my ideas!
Just kidding. Looking forward to see where this goes.
(Not sure if you actually stole it but I’ve been doing it in [email protected] for a while now)
Ope sorry! Didn't mean to step on any toes, just hadn't seen one pop up since I left Reddit!
I’m just teasing. I thought it was funny it’s on the same day I do for my community, also a gaming community. I’m curious if it’ll affect my numbers (up or down). Keep it up!
Finally installed Doom 2016. It's nice, but the gameplay is not clicking with me.
Bit of warframe, a lot of deeprock and some stellaris when I have that much free time.
Ffxiv since the relic weapon stuff is out. Getting pretty far in that grind.
Also replaying symphony of the night. Just been in the mood for it. Haven't really been playing anything new lately. Deltarune chapter 3 & 4 are out and I'll start playing them tonight, but I'm at work for the time being sadly.
Deadlock, and too much of it at that.
In PoE 1 new league waiting room (at last!), drops 6/13
Just started playing Splitgate 2! Didn't really pay too much attention when it got announced, but I saw it was live last night and gave it a try.
As a long time Halo/Arena Shooter fan, this game really scratches a certain itch. The gameplay is crisp, the art direction is fun, and I had a blast. Now I just need to get better at using my portals in game...
Something that stood out to me is that the install (at least on Xbox) was only 17gb! After so many gigantic games, it's nice to have one with a manageable file size.
I finished my second playthrough of Drova - Forsaken Kin (wanted to see both of the camps + experience the new content added with the last patch) somewhat recently and it gave me the itch to go back and replay the first two games from the Gothic series. I'm already done with Night of the Raven and making my way through the first game now. Getting them to run smoothly on Linux was a bit of a process but other than that they still hold up incredibly well, at least in my incredibly biased view.
Playing Core Keeper with no wiki. Having a blast, didn’t realize how much content the game has now. I need to play without a wiki more often. Much more fun.
First Witcher, pretty good so far
How far are you? I found chapter 2 to be a slog, in particular, but then it picks up right after that.
Lol literally sloging through a swamp in Chapter2
Yeah, the rough part is that they send you back and forth between the two furthest corners of that map over and over again. But if you like the political intrigue of the show or Game of Thrones or that sort of thing, plus the twist the series puts on classic fables, it will get there, haha.
I just finished playing Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster and have started Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster. I keep checking wikis and forum posts for information, since I hate missing things (especially things that you can't get back to). I think from here on out (I'm in one of the 3 Scenario Selects) I'll keep it as blind as I can.
I finally downloaded Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, and think it's pretty cool. But maybe it's just because I haven't played a Metroidvania in 2 years.
Last but not least, I tried the demo for Big Hops after seeing Giant Bomb's Unfinished video on it. 3D Platformer that feels very good to move around in. Not sure how deep the story will go, or what mechanics they'll be adding as the game progresses, but it's been a delight so far.
If you ever get the urge to replay FF6, the best version (by far) is the fan hack called Brave New World. It removes countless glitches and bugs while also enhancing the level-up, combat, and magic systems, as well as provides a far deeper and more thoughtful quasi-class system (each character has branching 'classes' based on which equips/magicites you allow them, providing much better thought out synergies than the original).
As someone who has loved this game for 20+ years now, BNW is very easily the greatest version out there. Def give it a try if you want to see this game re-raised to its fullest potential!
Thanks! Would you recommend it for someone's first playthrough, or only for subsequent replays?
It is worth noting that BNW is more difficult than the original, as enemies were rebalanced in order to match the new synergies available to the player. So, if you don't mind a challenge, then it's a great way to dive into this title!
I am still working my way through Expedition 33. I’m in Act 2 and I’d estimate about half way into that. I’m still absolutely loving it.
Vermintide 2 (modified L4D2 in Warhammer: Fantasy), since one kind soul on Lemmy said it now works on Linux too. I've missed a lot of new content and I don't even know where to go most of the times like I just started it. I became kinda rusty since I switched systems, but playing on lower difficulties feels fun too. An hour of runs per evening is where I am at. As I don't have anything tp grind there anymore as I did it all before, I've learnt to smile while loosing in some hilarious ways, and some of these failures make me cackling for a long while.
I just got my favorite game (Sekiro) to run on Linux! It wasn't hard or anything, just the first time I've gotten a Windows game to run.
Just got back on PlanetCrafter with my mate.
We are having a blast on the Moons update !
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. Really good game but some of travel is rough. Fast travel is very limited. Good combat and I like the pawn system.
Its been awhile since I've played, but you should get a few Portcrystals around mid-game, and combined with the eternal ferrystone will help traveling around significantly.
I've only found two that were movable. I don't know if I'm somehow missing them or something? I think I'm a decent way into the game. I'm at the point where you actually go into the castle and talk to the duke or whatever.
I actually went back to give star citizen a shot since they added these "flight school" type missions that actually pay pretty well. It's a chill experience to just pop on after work and do like 6-8 of them since they only take a few minutes each and then log off.
Other than that I found this game hard time 3 that is absolutely unhinged madness. It's a janky messy game, but it's fun chaos to mess with for a bit. It's free on mobile, but I bought it on steam. It already has a horrendous camera and dealing with that on mobile is just asking for an aneurysm.
I'm finding it hard to stick to one game in particular these past few days (weeks?).
I've been going back to my play through of Divinity: Original Sin 2 and I find the story is getting somewhat less interesting after reaching the second to last act/location (and fights are less challenging now, which isn't as fun imo).
I've also been playing a bit of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and it's more appealing than I anticipated - I'm just annoyed by recurring shader comp and loading stutters on PC...
I'm kind of in the mood for a shorter game, but my backlog is far too dense to pick anything easily.
Space Engineers. I set up a server for me and my friends with a few mods.
So far, we have an undefended asteroid with a ton of resources and production capabilities. It was attacked recently by a small pirate ship but I fought it off.
I'm in the process of making a large nomad ship - a mobile base.
Core Keeper with my gf and Children of Morta/PUBG casuals with a friend. A bit of PAYDAY 3 with a group.
I actually try to play less, phone less and focus more on drawing, journaling and touching grass
But I finished expedition 33 recently and before that I played some crusader kings 3 lotr mod
E33 turned out to be really long game and I wanted to finish it asap to see what happens. That resulted in a few days or so of a marathon that has physically and mentally exhausted me
I could not sleep at the last day after I went through the ending at all because I was tortured by crying fits
Now I remember that hugging moment even now I get sad immediately and it all just leaks out of my eyes so yeah. I am resting

Bro. You can't do that. No one can handle that much feels in such a short span.
OP: WITNESS ME!
I was even leveraging weed so that I am not stoned too much to get less immersion but just right to maximise the feelings.
I love I love I love when games hit me in the feels hard as truck. Just hit me you know… well
Great experience, I felt utterly broken. Would play again
Have you played A Plague Tale? It's much shorter but also pretty emotional.
I have a serious deficiencies in emotional games played considering I only acquired such taste playing Honkai star rail penacony a year ago. Or rather arcane s1 tv series before.
Gladly taking the recommendation and open to any other
Pour one out for a fallen gamer
I’ve also been playing Nightreign and having an absolute blast. I did manage to beat Gladius with a couple of randos early on, but nothing since then. I’ve been trying to help my friend clear that first hurdle, but no luck so far.
DOOM Dark Ages. I'm about halfway through.
Finally started playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 1. A lot of the design decisions in the game are antithetic to my idea of fun. But there's a healthy mod community and a handfull of QOL mods later I'm having an absolute blast
