There's two types of people that watch WWE/AEW wrestling.
- Actual morons who think it's real.
- People who know it's not real but love the drama and stupidity.
They're hyper-masculine soap operas and kinda fun to watch, ngl.

Don't work yourself into a shoot
Everyone I know that watches it is in the second group. Has there been any kind of study or survey on that? It'd be interesting to know what the actual percentage are
If there's a survey you can't trust, it's a survey about the kayfabe.
If the NFL was rigged they would be sued up down and out the ass by the sports betting companies. Don't these fools understand how self regulated supports are thanks to that?
Could you imagine how much more talented players would have to be if the NFL was scripted? I could just imagine last weekend a script writer going, "Ok, Purdy you're going to throw an absolute bomb and I need you to hit the defender square in the facemask. Then Aiyuk, you're going to dive and catch the rebound off your fingertips."
The coordination required to do that on demand would be off the charts insane.
With that being said, the Chiefs sure do get some bullshit calls going their way, like in last year's Super Bowl especially. But I think that's less of an example of the NFL being rigged and more like sometimes refs unconsciously play favorites.
I think you underestimate how many liberals love wrestling
But they know wrestling is Rigged
Oh man, that looks like a landing that would suck
I mean, just cause you want WWE's scripts doesn't mean you want actual sports to have those scripts too.
I thought the XFL made that clear.
(But yes the super bowl stuff is silly)
WWE is just anime for rednecks
I will be taking no further questions.
I've been saying "drag for straights" for years. And I love it.
A lot of that stuff is genuinely heterosexual drag though.
I mean, I know drag queens spend a lot of clothes, but I doubt they spend as much as the average insecure manchild does on his truck and edgy bumper stickers and/or t-shirts. Some of these losers are so insecure they don't eat vegetables or wash their own ass.
Honestly makes me ashamed to be straight sometimes.
Anime? I'd call them soap operas instead.
Depends on the Wrestling Show. Lots of styles across different promotions. You don't really get the "man raised from dead" or "custody of child" shenanigans much any more. Closest you get are cults. Definitely feels a bit more like Sports anime nowadays. Or just general dramas.
Probably still the best analogy as it's a guilty pleasure for most who don't want to explain it as a mix of gymnastics, dance and storytelling. Maybe "Manly Ballet" is a better equivalent (albeit a bit non-progressive, I just can't think of a better term but hopefully the analogy comes across)
What if you put the audio of WWE over soap operas. Or Vice-versa
Back when I used to smoke weed I would watch the bold and the beautiful dubbed into spanish.
I dont speak spanish and I dont watch the Bold and the Beautiful.
But something about the shitty acting, shitty plot, shitty writing, shitty dub, the words not matching their mouths became some strange hypnotic type shit where if I would zone out of the world, zone in on the tv and my brain would fill in the blanks and I would swear to god that I completely understood everything that was said.
Haha love it! There is so much non-verbal communication as well
I think it would change between the two depending if the announcer or wrestler shouts the name of their move to make it more powerful
