Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Spoiler alert they will still vote republican.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

Heartbreaking to only them. You get what you vote for

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

This, predictably, does not break my heart.

I don't understand, why doesn't he just "pull himself up by by his bootstraps" and work harder. That's what they tell everyone else, right?

Not killing enough minorities to make the hit to your wallet worth it, Craig?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago

This just the beginning. It takes time for all these effects to show themselves. Takes time for mortgages to go I to foreclosure. Etc.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago

Womp womp.

The only sympathy I have is for the overworked employees.

In his view, the 145% tariffs on Chinese goods are functionally an embargo, and they’ve been rolled out so suddenly that U.S. companies haven’t had time to adapt. “It’s too much too fast,” Fuller told reporters in a phone interview. “The economy can’t absorb it.”

If only an expert had known this beforehand.

If only our government was being ran by competent people and if someone is incompetent they were removed.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Do you want a government full of Steven Millers? 'Cause that's how you get a government full of Steven Millers.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

I said competent and I meant at their job, not at being a Neonazi!

For an example, when Kash Patel shows up without a budget to the budget hearing he gets removed for gross incompetence.

Doesn't anyone care about the poor CEOs anymore? Lol. Trump said he was going apply tariffs, which always reduce trade. He's getting exactly what he voted for.

The jobs of the future aren't in the manufacturing. These are the jobs of the past.

"But how could the Leopards eat MY face???" screamed the man who voted for the Leopards-Eating-People's-Faces Party at the Leopards-Eating-People's-Faces Party rally.

Absolute fucking clowns.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think the one thing that visual misses out on is that no one accounted for how many would describe themselves as loving having their face eaten.

I'm sick of calling my senators I'm gonna start calling these guys and dunking on them

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

That sounds amazing!! DO IT!!!!

Very clear example of the media being very divorced from middle class realities.

Bro, we don’t feel bad for poor people who voted for their demise, and you think we would care about CEOs?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Stock Market is Up.

That's all these people care about. The US can become a country that only knows how to make weird AI advertisements and MLM scams, and so long as GDP goes up these people will think everything is fine.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 day ago

The stock market is around the same level it was 6 months ago and still down from the beginning of his presidency

[–] [email protected] 92 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Bet they won't stop voting Republican tho

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

"See the next GOP president will fix it all with this one simple trick. Yup. It'll totally work. USA USA."

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

If that doesn’t work, elect them again!

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 day ago

They are the only game in town, particularly at the state and local level.

Republicans are in a suicide pact with their party. If you try to leave, your peers will kill you that much faster.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If only there was some way to know that this would happen!

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago

Sadly history has nothing to teach us and we can't predict the future. What are ya gonna do?

Missing from the article: lessons learned.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He won't learn

These idiots are constantly saying that despite the shitfuckery, they'd vote the same way again

[–] [email protected] -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But maybe if I somehow make them feel bad about themselves they will change, right?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

I don't give a shit if they change or not

I'm lucky enough not live in the backwards dump that is 'Murica
