Summit has this and is also the cleanest smoothest mobile app for Lemmy that I've come across.

Voyager for iOS has it, if that’s your thing

Please, I need this. It would make lemmy so much better. The best thing about RES is being able to navigate with a keyboard. j for down one comment, k for up, a to upvote, z to downvote, enter to collapse a chain, c to view comments on a post, l to follow the link. Hypothetically it shouldn't be that hard to code it but I'm too mentally crippled to function or code anymore

User tagging is a separate feature that I think would be nice, but I'm really missing the keyboard navigation.

As an aside, it's darkly funny that :stormfrontreddit-logo never tried to incorporate RES functionality into its UI, because old.reddit paired with RES and the night mode that RES provided made reddit usable. The entire philosophy of reddit's redesign is clearly to make it take longer for people to get information out of it and spend more time in/on it because everything takes longer, is slower, the UI is bloated and harder to parse, and then since they spend more time on it they see more ads, plus if people spend more time then it looks more appealing to advertisers. There's a perverse incentive to make it worse for profit, despite reddit never turning a profit and being probably incapable of ever doing so.

OH HEY I just DuckDuckGo'd it and there is this! Looks like it may take a bit to set it up so I'll check it out tomorrow: https://github.com/vmavromatis/Lemmy-keyboard-navigation

And the Firefox extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/lemmy-keyboard-navigation/

Edit: The firefox extension is working for me! Thanks for asking this question and prompting me to look! I had looked for it when I started using Lemmy, but there was nothing like this back then.

You can tag in Boost for Lemmy. But you miss out on stuff like taglines and emoji

I swear it was added to mainline Lemmy within the past 6-8 months, too, but the Hexbear frontend fork probably wouldn't have it implemented yet. It might have been for a 0.20.x alpha version, and now I can't find the Git issue.

is that like a hexbear only feature? Can't someone fork boost or eternity and add it?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Yeah they for sure could. Boost for Lemmy is a fork of the original Boost which is for Reddit

To tag people you can type @ followed by the person's username. A menu should appear with a list of usernames. Click on the one you want to tag.

I think they mean tagging in the sense of applying a personal note on an account that you see whenever that account posts or comments
