No, there were a few hours where 100% of grok responses contained a refutation of claims of white genocide in South Africa. It seems like someone did a bunch of ketamine and edited the master system prompt in a really stupid way to talk about white genocide, but the underlying training data is full of evidence no such thing exists, so grok was made to forcefully bring up white genocide and then dispelled the myths in every post.
Everytime I see these, all I can think of is that Aussie politician talking about gay marriage and crocodile attacks.

They edited the prompt in the background to be pro-apartheid but what is pretty obvious about LLMs is they are terrible at ignoring things selectively, so it leaks into every request.
In case you haven't caught this story yet, they apparently tried to make the AI support the white genocide conspiracy and fucked it up so hard it started replying to every question it got by talking about white genocide
