Democrats, the same people who shout "Israel has a right to defend themselves" won't care about a few brown people. They'll use it to scam money for their campaign coffers, just like they do over abortion, but ultimately won't do squat. The liberal yokels will vote for them anyways.

yes lets leverage the famously strict-against-police us laws.

I want

leftist wall of text applies to libs too
word fetish weirdos

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

So is this true? Outside leftist spaces is there a groundswell of "I can't say what I want to happen to these people" sentiment?

That sounds too good to be true, but I would love if this were the case

Yes. And that’s why whenever I see polls saying things like “A majority of Americans approve of Trump’s ICE actions” I’m always just skeptical of the quality of the poll.

Next time you’re talking to someone in their twenties drop one of the following phrases: “When it happens” “The Big Day” “When you hear The News.” The average American is anxiously awaiting being told that Trump or Elon have been shot and killed like a child on Christmas Eve.

I don't know the context. It's possible there's an entire drama - maybe with the biggest accounts - that I know nothing about. I'm 100% ignorant of a lot of drama because I block so many of the big and/or notable lib accounts. And I hardly know anything about the OP but I do know he's a turbolib who probably calls himself a term like "progressive". Plus he's smarmy. My hunch is that he's poking fun of the left. Or maybe there is no drama and no poking fun. He's just a turbolib crowing like a rooster how the "rule of law" will save America.

I hope all ICE officers comically slip on a banana peel

You hope ICE gets prosecuted

I hope ICE dies

We are not the same

I remember when some user (definitely not me) actually d0x3d a bunch of "cold temp beverage regulator devices" on here and got banned immediately lol

all 0rg4n12ing must be done offline

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I hope they die, but in the absence of that I would appreciate prosecutions.

Anything to make the lives of ICE agents worse and shorter I will take

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago

If I wasn't poor I'd run for governor on a platform that included putting a bounty on every ICE agent who steps foot in our state

[–] [email protected] 56 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

Dumb but also yes actually, I do want every democratic candidate to say very publicly and very loudly “We will prosecute you for collaborating with this administration. You will go to prison if you comply. Following orders will not be a defense.”

Like, this is not the way to stop fascism or anything, it’s not like that will stop this all dead in its tracks, but it is a good step that they should absolutely be taking, especially if they want to win again at some point

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Yep it’s like the bare minimum.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Sure, that would technically be good, but acting like it makes any sense is truly silly. The Democrats themselves are collaborating with this administration, how are they going to prosecute people for doing the same? They've asked ICE to do the same shit.

It's like hoping the Nazi regime do something about all these death camps - Like yeah, it'd be great if they did, but in what world would that be a plausible thing to expect? Or a coherent point to even try make?

[–] [email protected] 33 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There isn't a single dem in congress with the moxie to do the following. But it's the sort of stuff they should have already been doing.

the single most insane person in Congress should threaten to read every ICE agent's home address into the Congressional Record the moment they get their hands on them

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Ooooh that’s a really good one I like that

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago

It would be even better if the purely theoretical dem got the names and addresses of ICE people down to the enforcement officer level and leaked that to the media, put it up on the net as a torrent, etc. I know this is as likely as a wizards being real but a man can dream - can't he?

[–] [email protected] 25 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

say very publicly and very loudly

The problem is that empty words accomplish nothing. Nobody at ICE is in an danger at all of being prosecuted for anything. The public won't even even learn the names of the guys wearing masks. Imagine a series of miracles occur and in in 2029 the dems control congress and the presidency. President Newsom (or equivalent) will make a "look forward - not backward" speech. And... that's it.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 weeks ago

They should be saying it for two reasons.

One, they should actually do it, it’ll be very popular, and it’s the morally correct thing to do.

Two, whether or not they actually do it when they get power, if they want to win (very questionable) it is a good strategy that people will like and will get them votes.

The same reasons Kamala should’ve called out Biden’s inaction on Gaza. Yes you should actually follow through on your campaign promises but also even if you don’t plan to you should lie, you’re a politician, that’s the job.

Just like the allied powers did with the nazis after WWII right?! anakin-padme-2

Just like America did with the confederate leaders after the civil war right? anakin-padme-4

Operation Paperclip TWO!

Tagline: It's a can't miss wacky remix of post World War Two shenanigans. The Democratic party rehabs the bad guys who were part of Trump's ICEstapo!

[–] [email protected] 29 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah I'm not gonna take fedposting bait

[–] [email protected] 30 points 2 weeks ago

The correct answer:

Cw: dead Mussolini

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 weeks ago

He did get 5 letters right at least...

[–] [email protected] 36 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

It reminds me of this.

While many of you are likely yelling "GO PATRIOTS" or "GO RAMS!" I'm yelling "GO ROBERT MUELLER and the rule of law!"

Edit

I replied to the OP with a little joke quoting the tweet. I was curious if he'd block me or mute me. He muted me in short order. I'm not complaining. But he's exactly the sort of turbolib who gets testy when anybody even implies that Bluesky is a liberal echo chamber even though for him that's exactly what it is.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I already thought that was peak LIB before I found out one of the Krassensteins posted it.
