  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Gotta distract from the grift. Whip up the MAGAt morons and make them blame gay people for their problems and they won't even notice you yoinking their social security, their pensions, health.

Wish someone would introduce a ban for being a bigoted PoS republikkkan...

I was recently watching the episode of The Handmaid's Tale where a woman can't travel with her wife and child because their marriage isn't recognized anymore and sadly thinking "this is really going to happen soon"

… I’m waiting for interracial marriage to also come up… were regressing at lightning speed.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Well that would just fall under the general category of DEI marriage. The only true marriage is between two white men, but not in a gay way obviously.

They’ll ask to have it “sent it back to the states.”

I'm queer, and fortunately in the UK. But this still fucking hurts and scares me, mainly because of how it'll effect the community in the US but also for me.

Lgbt people in the US can see these headlines and end up living in denial about there sexuality, living lies, being miserable and sometimes even killing themselves. Anti gay people feel vindicated by this shit, and say and do things to LGBT people they meet.

For myself, it influences the bigots through the world. Even in my professional workplace there's colleagues that aren't positive about it. We can get targeted for bullying or worse.

It's just so sad

Now for black, Hispanic, Asian and women's right.

The new fuck the Hispanic, Black, Asian, and women's rights Bill.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

"this bill will strip citizens of all their rights. It's called the Freedom of Rights Bill."

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

Freedom From Rights bill.

How exactly does Iowa have standing for such a claim? In 2009 the Iowa Supreme court affirmed that the right to marry (gay or otherwise) was enshrined in the state constitution. Even if SCOTUS made such a ruling at the federal level, it wouldn't change the state constitution.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago

Standing is an antiquated concept at this point. Particularly when it comes to attacking queer rights. They can do whatever they want.

In this case they're joining a number of other states in trying to overturn Obergefell, they're flat out ignoring Varnum and the state situation.

My home state. Most my family has moved out, what a shit hole.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 weeks ago

Can't get out of this fucking country fast enough. Just needs to keep it together for a couple more months then I'm escaping
